Brilliant if you ask me. I really don't know why devs don't do this. Or even take it to higher extremes.

Because it's not possible. The only reliable method to stop pirates is making the game run half or completely server side. But you know how the community will take that ;)

Pirates with half a brain do not use torrents unless it's the last method available. There are numerous trusted sources for scene releases where the chance of getting a virus is at 0% and the possibility to be discovered about the same.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Im wondering if this is where all these "watch dogs framerate drops on pc" reports are coming from or is that actually a watch dogs problem?

Never pirated a game before, not really my thing so I don't know about stuff like that. Just found it funny for the pirates that do lack half a brain so to speak.

What's interesting is that I can't find that version of torrent anywhere... even the public sites I go to doesn't seem to have that specific torrent so its either an isolated issue or its fake or the sites i go to removed it but its still funny none the less

This doesn't really stop piracy. Companies will just annoyed the impatient users, but when pirates remove the virus, they will just download the game again. Very stupid of them also, you never want to download a pirate game too early, you wait for someone with reputation to release the crack.

You have to dig very deep to find the torrent. There's a concept called "levels of the internet", this image is mostly a joke, but you get the idea of what the levels are.

Oh loll, I thought it would be easier to find than searching through the "deep web." And yea, I did go there once with a lovely VPN + tor and never want to go there ever again cause everything there will get you arressed faster than you can say whoops

Oh an Tor is not secure anymore so don't use that

Meh. The only real funny pirate joke in my opinion if the one Game Dev Tycoon pulled. If you don't know, they made a torrent of their own game. The game was edited so that you'd go bankrupt due to piracy in the middle of the game. It was great to see pirates asking on the forum for help.
