As a comic and huge X-Men fan I was again, saddened. This is the 5th X-Men movie that has been made and again we are dumped on with another crap movie. Where are the awesome battles ? Where are the classic villains ? There are so many great story plots that marvel can dive into. Excutioners Song. Death of Wolverine. Age Of Apocalypse. Onslaught. Afterr Xavier. But noooooooo. We get yet another Mystique rompfest. Marvel needs to take a tip from the Dark Knight series. Take away the PG13 status, make it catered more towards the hardcore fans and go all out. We don't need another film telling us the origins of anything. Please......... Oh and Cyclops, Gambit and Rogue needs better roles damb it.

I once thought like you.  You have to realize that even the animated films can't be faithful to the comics in most cases.  Onslaught?  Age of Apocalypse?  You're picking storylines that not only built upon decades of lore, but also took over a year to resolve!  How could they even set these stories up?  Onslaught more or less resolved the issue of the X-Traitor and killed the all of the major heroes (that Fox doesn't even have rights to), sent them to another world---long story short, unless you want to totally alienate the fans, you're gonna have to make some compromises.

I went with my 14 year old non-comic fan nephew and when it was over and I was feeling super satisfied, his response was: "That was confusing."  As for taking away the PG13 status, did you not see Ice Man's head come off?  Collosus getting ripped in half?  Sunspot getting his arm cut off?  The movie(s) you're hoping for will never be made!  Personally, I'm amazed that they were able to tie in the reboot, First Class, with all of the prior movies and the Wolverine movies and make a story that could be enjoyed on its own as well as combined with all of the other X-movies.  Sorry bro.  Comics fans are notoriously hard to satisfy and always like to show their knowledge by saying "They should do this" and "In the comics, they did that instead"  but you're in the minority on this one.

Quote " Onslaught?  Age of Apocalypse?  You're picking storylines that not only built upon decades of lore, but also took over a year to resolve!  How could they even set these stories up? "......

That right there sums up what I personally hate about these X-Men movies. Fans of the comics already know their back stories. How they got together. How they got their powers. We dont need another back story, nor another set up to bridge to another set up, which bridges another set up.

Give us a MOVIE..... Good guys vs Bad guys.

X-Men vs whoever.

What they did with the New Spiderman movies is perfect. Spiderman 1 was the creation of peter parker. Spiderman 2 he is an established super hero and can now get down to business. Fighiting villans.

Spiderman2 did this year is exactly what the X-Men movies needs to do. Spiderman was an extablished character, Electro was created during the movie, his story evolved and him ans Spider fought through the movie.  Thats it. We need X-men vs ?????  (Insert favorit Villan here).

Another gripe I have with these super hero movies are all the set ups......

In Avengers movie was released in 2012.

They sneak peak Thanos at the end of the movie.

Yet still the next movie will be Age Of Ultron, which is to be released in 2015, and I'm guessing we will NOT get Thanos as a Main villain,

So i'm guessing that we will get another set up of Thanos at the end of Guardians Of The Galaxy.

And if were lucky we will finally see Thanos as a main Villain somewhere in the 3rd Avengers Movie in 2017.

In my opinion, that's just DUMB.

No I meant he is the equivalent to Sony's The Last Guardian. Marvel teases him and then don't talk about him for many years He'll be the main villain though and he'll show up in some from in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Oh, LOL..........

So I was dragged by GF and a few friends to watch this one. First of all I appreciated the effort to make a more cerebral movie out of X-men, but there was a few flaws here and there who really compromised it.

1 - The fast guy and young Magneto were severely overpowered. The former could stretch time thousands of times and the second could rise a stadium on sheer magnetism. I estimate the needed magnetic flux intensity in order for that to happen to be  instantly lethal to living things, BTW, so no need for Magneto to go around pulling metal if he can efectively shut down brains and stuff.

2 - The whole idea of Wolverine for some reason needing to break Magneto out of prison, no matter the fact the guy was a total sociopath whose means were totally counterproductive to what Wolverine was trying to do.

3 - Tyrion Lannister developing killer robots on the 70's. Not only that, they would go on to develop biomechanical capabilities and somehow assimilate mutant genetics. What the hell? Although I guess that is to be expected after the magnetic fields and all.

4 - At the end there was a guy with the pyramids whom my brother claimed would go on to pwn even Magneto and stuff. After point 1, you can guess how happy that actually made me ¬¬

Like I said before. Xmen needs to take a page from The Dark Knight Series. Especially The Dark Knight. The movie began with the Joker scene. No need to build up the character no need for any back story. Everyone already knows who the joker is. And from there, bam, the movie is set for Batman to face of against Joker throughout the movie. . Start off the X-Men movie, introduce (Insert your favorite story arc here) and give comic book fans a great MOVIE.Stop with all the continuation crap.

I can´t belive they destroyed the best ending with the last two second pointless fanservice.

I was very exited with Logan going to the Arma X project and scraping Wolverine Origin but that the hell Mystic was doing as Stryker?

Maybe they setup Logan as one of the Four Horsemen?
