Domination is a word fanboys like to throw around. WiiU won't sell more than 5 million by the time it gets discontinued. PS4 will certainly beat PS3's sales LTD, not by much though as the market is still shrinking over there.



Ok so you think WiiU way less than 5mil (im guessing your saying 3mil-4.5mil) and PS4 will do over 10mil? WiiU i can agree with doing 3-4.5mil lifetime, maybe with luck hit 5mil, but PS4? Ok good luck with that. PS4 depending on how things pan out should do anywhere between 4mil-7mil maybe up to 8mil lifetime.

so if the market is shrinking over there, what makes you think its going to outsell the ps3? 

i dont think it will outsell the ps3. sony, with the ps3 (at least when it came out) seemed to still have the japanese gamer in mind. with the ps4, sony seems like theyre putting all their eggs in europe and the US. mainly the US. as time went on with the ps3, less and less japanese centric games were being released for it, and i think that is continuing with the ps4. i dont see the ps4 even really coming close to the ps3. the only way it can beat the ps3 is if sony makes a great concentrated effort to make software dedicated to the japanese market. 

this industry is impossible to predict sometimes because we never know what tricks these people are going to pull out of their sleeves. but i think we can all safely bet that if sony is planning on continuing down this same path, japan will not be buying very many ps4s at all.

Yeah but saying Wii U > PS4 in Japan is like saying this pile of trash is > than that pile of trash. Let's not kid ourselves by saying either console is selling good by any standards.

However, he is right in saying wait for the games to see if the trajectory might change. Obviously some key games for Wii U has yet to change the abysmal numbers Wii U are puting out, but personally I don't hold any hope for either console in Japan. It's all downhill from here over there.

Legs. Currently the PS3 is even closing the gap to the almighty Wii.
The gap will probably widen until the end of the year but there are still a few years left in this gen. The PS4 hasn't even had a chance to sell. It's premature and frankly stupid to measure PS4's success in Japan by the first 3 months which didn't even include the holidays.

I just don't see a reason why the PS4 wouldn't sell and why the WiiU will not die completely after it blows its load this and next year.

think a little more objectively about what each system has coming for it.

Oh my god! No! It was just a response to Anfebious' "Super Mario 3D World was supossed to "save" the Wii U..."

I just don't like people dooming a console in Japan before it has even 1 single interesting title. I think it's rather silly to be honest. Give it some time.

Technically no, the PS4 doesn't even need Japan, it doesn't need saving. Let them have Japan for now, they know its only a matter of time.

My 1) prediction = WiiU could be discontinued because of very poor sales in the Global.
My 2) prediction = PS4 > WiiU everywhere.
My 3) prediction = PS4 domination in the Global.
