Forums - Nintendo - Is anybody else starting to think the PS4 will never catch the Wii U in Japan?

OK so I just saw the Media Create for the week of May 12 to the 16th and the PS4 has sunk to within 76 units of the Wii U, so got me thinking the PS4 may never catch the Wii U in Japan. Japan just isn't into home consoles anymore.

Well... If FFXV is actually good along with MGS V. I think the ps4 might catch up but idk by how much just yet

Nope. Never crossed my mind once. If the PS3 could close the gap with the Wii the we it has the PS4 should have no problem outselling the Wii-U in Japan.

Well Wii U is soon getting Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, X, Mario Kart and Smash Bros. All ought to sell very well in Japan, I'd guess. Then there's the inevitable Animal Crossing and maybe a Pokemon game or two, plus that Fire Emblem-SMT crossover. A full-blown Fire Emblem seems like a given, too. Maybe a Tomodachi U game, and a Monster Hunter 4GU or something. Along with any unannounced games, Wii U sure is getting a ton of system sellers.
