Forums - Gaming - Which hyped game will be the biggest disappointment?

Titanfall will go down as this generations biggest dud. I've never seen another game come along where the media proclaims it as something that's going to change the way we THINK about games, and then....nothing. It's absolutely without equal imo.

Forgot about Titanfall, which actually helps your arguement, lol.

Wait, I thought this thread was about which games will be a dissapointment critically. Isn't being overrated contridictory to being a disappointment?

It is about that, we went a little off topic, I was just responding to him because he pointed out something different.

Ah, I see now after looking at your previous post.

Off topic: It's interesting that I was coincidentaly listening to Touhou music when I read your post.

Is anyone outside of Japan actually hyped for Hyrule Warriors?

Yes. But not to the MK8 or SB kind of level, so listing it was kinda pointless.

Easily Watch_Dogs! I think some gamers are hyping that damn game way too much!

I think Sunset Overdrive, because; Fuse. And also the latest R&C games were a bit mediocre; All 4 one and Q-Force.

PS4 - The Order: 1886
X1 - Sunset Overdrive
Wii U - Hyrule Warriors

Do you even have an idea about The Order: 1886 developer Ready At Dawn Studio's track record? Here's what their games have scored on Metacritic:

1. God Of War: Chains Of Olympus (PSP): 92 (Highest rated PSP game on Metacritic)

2. God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta (PSP): 86

3. Daxter (PSP): 85

4. Okami port for Wii (Wii): 90

I think that's enough for them to be trusted in making a great game.

I don't understand the hype behind Watch Dogs. It's GTA with 'hacking'? Why is that good/interesting? Hacking can be a good minigame (freaking Deus Ex 1 where all you do is press 'Hack' and it works like charm, Sleeping Dogs) but to base the whole game on it is epic fail?

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Hacking can be a good minigame, but it can be a whole lot deeper when integrated into the general gameplay.

No way. I love how just because someone didn't like it or because it was only on "certain" consoles, it's a dud. Your theory is based soley on the fact that it didn't somehow outsell COD, which should never have been expected.

It's been like the number 1 UK game since release, except for 1 week, and it's been the best selling US game since launch AND EA and Respawn announced a continuing partnership for "future Titanfall experiences" which means a sequel without announcing it. Yeah, that's quite a dud.

Getting back on topic, Destiny. Talk about hype and expectations. A $500 million bet across 3 games over 10 years.
