Didnt I say the Wii U will lead a couple of weeks of summer? Sounds like we are already here. Like I said time and time and again the 5-6 year console needs to stop it needs to be 7-9 year consoles now. Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft/ need to fucking wakeup about this or they will all eat themselves alive with new console releases.

Japan is VERY quickly moving towards iOS/android gaming. DQ1-8. FF1-6 (with 7 hinted at), original FF games, original DQM game, MHP2G recently released, Dragons and Puzzles, etc etc etc. When apple releases Apple TV 2014 with gaming capabilities and google releases android tv with gaming capabilities where you can take your gaming on the go, come home and continue on the big screen , dedicated gaming machines will probably be as good as dead in Japan.

Totally right. Thats why VitaTV is such a huge hit in Japan!

Just like the vita is as big a hit as the iphone/ipad and android phones and tablets!

To be honest emulating the PS3 would have been so difficult that the increased price would probably have negated a lot of its effect :/

The trouble is there are 9 consoles to choose from, 10 soon when the X1 releases there. The psp needs to be discontinued aswell as the 360 over there. The Ps4 has zero games that Japan likes, WiiU is having draughts etc etc

It's only going to get worse for the ps4 in Japan. I don't even know when anything Japanese games are going to the system, and the ones that are will be cross gen.

Next week it will be below the Wii U, and then the week after, we'll get Mario Kart 8. The Wii U is a flop there too, but the PS4 is a $100 more expensive flop with, to a Japanese audience, no gaemz.
