You sound like a Wii U owner. The PS4 is already a failure there.

NSMBU has outsold both Kingdom Hearts and MGS4 in Japan for perspective. Wii Party U has sold only 100k less than those two in Japan for perspective. FFXV, KH3, and MGS5 will, without a shadow of a doubt, do worse on the PS4 in Japan than any of their predisessors, because the PS4 itself is tracking far behind all of its predisessors.
The PS4 won't bounce back. Those games will slightly boost sales temperily. That's obvious. The PS4 will continue to fail there, though. Just be glad it isn't failing everywhere, like the Wii U is.
Japan doesn't care about Mario Kart either. MK Wii may have sold nearly 4m there, but the Wii U is tracking far behind the Wii. A more accurate comparison is MK DD, which sold less than 1m there. SSBM sold just over 1m there. Those games won't save the Wii U in Japan either.
Console gaming is dead there. That includes the PS4 and the Wii U.

Do you understand that ps3 sold less than 10 million on japan, rigth? So, even as low it may seems to you sell "only" 1-2 million, maybe those 3 games could be responsible for 30% of the entire userbase in japan. Saying that titles that have a attach rate bigger than 0.1 are not system seller seems a little pensimistic to me.
Don't get me wrong, maybe ps4 manage to sell even worse, but general consensus today is that ps3 did well enough to get all third party support that could from japan, and manage to stay on top of the charts, home console wise.
OT: PS4 will recieve various western games, but almost none eastern focused. Maybe, the first one will appear only next year! Its true however that games with the eastern public in mind seem to release only digital so far(FF MMO, Deep Down), but this says alot about they potential as system sellers.
People could brag about that when the games come, ps4 will leave all that behind, but the problem is: wiiu is in the exact same point! Almost all games that will be released for it this year (from now on) has a great eastern appeal: MK in next week, Bayonetta on summer, hyrle warrior in august, X before the year ends, and SMTxFE for beyond. There a rumor about a devil third and pokken too, but ps4 has theirs unnacounced games too(project beast).
So yeah, for me, wiiu has a bigger chance to get better in japan than in any other place(remeber that gamepad was made because japanese tend to play on handheld at home), and sadly, it seems that ps4 has more chance to underperform badly in japan than in any other place(except for maybe brazil, where it costs 5x times more than outside).
