Forums - Gaming - Watch dogs review embargo till 27 th May

I'm kinda worried about this game... it seems it was announced three centuries ago, and it's been in development since 2009 (!) but it's not even 1080p on next-gen consoles. Makes you wonder...

I fucking hate these review embargoes. It seems to me Ubisoft isn´t confident about the quality of their newest game.

And that tweet is cringeworthy.

I think they delayed the game because it might not have passed their internet reviews.

Always suspicious when the review embargo is on release day.

Im glad I didnt preorder, thats for sure.

Well, that's very convinient.... for them.

Not a good sign, but ACIV's embargo also ended on release day.

true, I think it is just a general policy for UBIsoft. Its smart really. If you always do it people wont know when you are trying to hide reviews and when you are just following your policy and it is a good game.

I think they do embargos to prevent magazines from doing half assed reviews just to get it out their 1st. If they have to wait longer maybe they will actually play through the game before they review it. It also limits troll sites who make a extra bad review just to generate traffic. You know the one site that sees fit to give a game with a 90% average like a 5/10.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Pre-order cancelled i don't do release day embargo's, ill go pick it up the day after if they really had nothing to hide.

I dont agree with release day embargo's but i do certainly agree with embargo's, because it prevents outlets rushing out a review to just be "first".... but from what I've read I think this is more a problem of the people they send their products to to review, you'd be surprised what type of people ask for review copies and if it was me, I wouldn't send some of them a copy. i.e one guy in his bedroom on the internet with a couple of hundred followers etc etc.
