Best line of the movie

"Let them fight"

I also loved his piece about his father's watch, stopped by the EMP blast of the Hiroshima bomb. That hit hard.

Please post your reviews with others for Godzilla here:

And same goes for "X-Men 4: Days of Future Past" (May 23, 2K14) & Maleficent (May 30, 2014).

Being better than the 98 film isn't exactly a big accomplishment.

And the Godzilla series shouldn't be remembered for the one-off American attempts. It should be remembered for the actual Japanese Godzilla films, of which we'll hopefully get a new installment of, at SOME point in the next few years. That is the kind of movie most Godzilla fans want. Not a slow, boring, Hollywood CGI-fest.

This film was okay at best. It was worth watching once. But it was hardly great by any means.

Probably because they're typical "dumb Americans" who just think it's a silly foreign guy who can't properly pronounce the word "Godzilla", instead of realizing that the name of the first movie (and the actual Japanese name of the monster) is "Gojira", which isnt' a bad translation of "Godzilla", it's the other way around. Don't get me wrong, I love the name Godzilla, it's what I grew up with, and what I know him as. But the word "Godzilla" has zero meaning. So people laughing are laughing for the wrong, and dumbest, of reasons.

Speak for yourself; as a massive Godzilla fan who owns all 28 of the Japanese movies, I thought it was one of the best, and will be seeing it more than once at the cinemas alone. (Then many more times on DVD) ;)

That ham fisted character development really hurt the film.
