Lol, no. TLoU on the ps3 is 720p which is a HD resolution, DVD is sub HD. So no, it isn't like going from DVD to bluray.  Wind Waker to WWHD was like going from DVD to bluray.

cant wait to see it. when i went back to play it not long ago the jaggies were terrible. lol

Bluray is 4x the resolution of DVD with better audio and alot of extras not possible on the old format.

The gap in visual fidelity between DVD and Blu-ray is way higher than the gap between 7th gen and 8th gen consoles. Or maybe he only saw some crappy transfers of old movies with lots of digital noise reduction.

No, it's like Blu-ray to Blu-ray, because it IS Blu-ray to Blu-ray.

But instead of only a higher resolution like you get with movies the game also got better textures etc. For example they said themselves the characters like they looked in the cut scenes are what they look like in game in the remastered version.

Up the resolution from 720p to 1080p - remastered, and that will be 60 bucks.
