Forums - Gaming - Which games do you feel are pointless to current gen?

So far this gen has been dissapointing. The overhype of virtual reality, the "drought" each console has, and the overpricing of are all problems this gen has brought in. However the thing that is keeping me lighthearted is games, I like what each console and handheld have to offer and want to play MOST of them. Unfortunately I still think a few of the games already out/coming out are pointless to the console and are/will be a dissapointment. Here's my list of them. For the sake of being fair(and short) I will list one exclusive from each console/handheld one exclusive for PC and one Multiplat.

List of judgement

Wii U- Sonic Lost World ~ While I believe It's an alright game with some flaws many others critisize it harshly making an even worse reputation for the Blue Blur. I'm including this as an exclusive to wii U because the game for 3DS is made very different IMO. Hopefully sonic boom can fix Sonic's infamous reputation plz Big Red Button.

PS4-The Order: 1886 ~ I was excited for this game for a bit until I found out it's a third person shooter a genre overdid last generation. Instead of being a shooter I wished for a dectective game hunting down monsters in 18th century london. That game would be the tits. Seriously third person shooters were overdone last generation with GTA, Gears of War, The Last of Us, Assassains Creed, Mass effect, Just Cause, Crackdown, Dead Space, Mafia, Fallout 3/New Vegas, Ghostbusters, Tomclancy, Godfather, Lost Planet, Max Payne, Red Dead Redemption, Resident Evil, Saints Row, Uncharted just to name the popular ones.

Xbox One- Fighter Within ~ You saw those scores right? Thats what happens when you make a kinect game half-assed. It shows that a new kinect doesn't mean developers know how the hell to make games for it.

3DS- Kid Icarus Uprising ~ Oh come on just because you brought him in for smash doesent mean you have to reinvent him! Honestly any game that is a FPS on 3DS won't control so well but this was so bad they needed a peripheral. Just no. I hope they won't try this with Ice climbers.

Vita- Black Ops Declassifed ~ Now I hate COD as much as the next guy but I believe it can be fun for a short while. The vita port spits on that and provides a terrible experience for all. Just shows good hardware doesn't mean a good port.

PC- Wildstar ~ The fact that so many MMO's are coming out this one interests me the least. Seriously colourful graphics aren't enough to win me over. Elder Scrolls Online has it's lore, World of Warcraft has it's large Player base, EVE has vast customization what does wildstar have? Jackshit.

Multiplat- Watchdogs ~ Oh man this game *shakes head*. This game promised to innovate, have great graphics, release last year, and support the Wii U. What did it do? Be another third person shooter, get delayed, reduce graphics, and delay Wii U even MORE than the others. Yet it sells. Just a bad example of game industry and the consumers who blindly follow. It still may be a fun game but the stuff they pulled I will never forgive.

So what do you think? Am I a delusional phsycopath with a overabundance of hate? Are there additions more pointless than these to the marketplace? Are platformers more overdone than third person shooters? Let me know!

I have to agree in regards to Wildstar. The catch was supposed to be the combat, but after trying it, it was disappointing and boring. TERA does combat alot better.
What i found in wildstar was no different than WoW multiple skills, the same line or cone telegrapgh and a different secondary effect. This slash does damage, the other does more threat, the other leaves a dot, the other heals 10%, but they all look alike. They preach they have great combat, but they really dont.

At least on TERA you had slash, stab, lunge, backflip, etc. I was very disappointed with Wildstar, especially when the combat that didnt deliver was added to instanced areas (i remember how ppl bitched about swtor planet beeing essentially not connected in an overworld. i wonder if ppl will bitch that wildstar areas are basically independant from each other.) but worst of all, the boring quest system. After playing the voiced SWTOR, the events on GW2 the mix of quests and events from FFXIV its very difficult to go back to "wall of text" quests.

Kid Icarus Uprising is like the best game on the 3DS.

These cash-in HD remasters of barely-year old games.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Battlefield 4.

Because it's still broken. Less broken and better FPS experiences are well on their way.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I hope so. Titanfall was a much better experience than battlefield now waiting for a game like that with awesome graphics.

I didn't say it was a bad game but the fact that the control was so bad and how Pit a unused character not many knew about got a new release so drastically different from the original, it just seemed pointless to the library.

If it wasn't a good nintendo title it would have caused uproars in the streets.
