On the bright side, this thread pretty much accounted for 95% of the reason I decided to join you fine folks. =D So benefits arose!

By the way, when does VGchartz generally make their adjustments? Do they have a specific 'Fix What We Did Wrong' day, or does it just eventually kinda happen?

the 360 is still off by atleast million ;)    they could adjust and still be iffy, and adjusted another 4-5 times lol  there are a few people who closely track it i think.

Why are you telling us to look up "data" of a non-credible source? Didn't I tell you to look up the PDF of NPD's methodology earlier in this thread? PS4 outsold the X1 by 72k in June. Period

I am literally starting to fall under the impression that he sort of just ignores you unless you say something dismissing him personally/insulting/whichever. o.O Seen a couple of times that whenever someone tries saying 'Okay, Imma level with you, here's reasons yadayadayadayadayada, now please, feel free to respond with your counter-points,' he flat out ignores them, or sometimes responds with single-phrase insistences that he is right for 'reasons.' Starting to see how this thread lasted so long if he's avoiding spirited debate like the plague. Saw the same techniques in the Flat Earth Society forums.

(I wish I were joking. -_- )

And we're on post #1117 or something like that and TheDrill still does not accept the truth. Before, he had the right to disagree because what we claimed would happen did not happen yet. However, June NPD is out and our predictions came true. Actually, some of us didn't expect the PS4 to outsell the X1 by that large of a margin. At this point, there is no more room for debate. The results are clear and sound. Whatever TheDrill continues to do will only hurt him more and more.

Aye, as I stated in the NPD thread, I was actually kinda surprised that Sony won June as well; I figured that, if nothing else, the top-loaded pre-orders and first-week sales from pent-up demand would give them enough of a catapault to propel them into the lead for June. Of course, whether that lead held out in July would have been a matter up for debate... moot debate now, given that didn't even happen.

If you take into account only the weeks of the price cut, not the 1 week before that in the month, X1 outsold slightly thre PS4 in the US.

And the pre-order accumulation for the Kinectless SKU? Considering the original console launch makes it clear that, yes, fulfilled pre-orders do count towards sales for the month they are claimed, then even the month of May, and week or so of June, that didn't have people BUYING a console, if they wanted it, they would have still been pre-ordering it, no? Or are you suggesting that the majority of people pre-ordered it, and then decided to wait until July to collect the pre-order?

I knew that PS4 would come out on top despite the removal of Kinect and TheDrill still denies the facts. MS did everything they could with the X1 from bundling the console with one of the most hyped games, giving unofficial pricecuts, taking out the Kinect, to now giving 360 users $75. Nothing is working.

Being outsold by 38% is not close at all, especially when X1's numbers include launch sales of the new SKU. Let's say we guestimate its baseline sales by taking the average of May and June. Baseline sales will be around 137k a month. That's still pretty bad when the PS4 tends to average around 225k a month. If we go by these numbers, the X1 is being outsold by ~64%, which is a big number.

And you're right, TheDrill, this is only the beginning of this generation. It is the beginning of the worse to come for the X1. This year, the PS4 is getting TLOU Remastered, Guilty Gears Xrd -SIGN-, Natural Doctrine, Driveclub, and Destiny. X1 has nothing to counter the PS4 this summer and early fall. Driveclub will compete with FH2 and Halo MCC is mostly bought by people who already have the system. 2015 may became a bloodbath if MS doesn't do anything drastic. Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Santa Monica's new IP, Guerilla Games' new IP, Media Molecule's new IP, MLB The Show 15, Guerrila Cambridge's new game, etc. There is just way too much for MS to counter.

TLOU remastered has only a few preorderes, it won't seel much and it won't push PS4 sales.

The rest of those games are new and uknown and unhyped, won't sell much either, except Destiny, but destiny comes for X1 as well, and X1 is the platform of choice for Halo fans, so I won't be surprised if it will sell more than on PS4 in the US, don't forget that TitanFall sold more than any game on PS4, and total Software Sales are higher for X1 than PS4 in the US.

Oho, goalpost moving again, are we? And what does this have to do with what we're actually talking about?

And actually, we don't know. I and others have told you before that VGC numbers are not credible at all and yet you still are using them. In some major retailers like Amazon, the PS4 still listed ahead of the X1 even DURING the launch. So your claim that the X1 outsold the PS4 during the SKU launch holds no substance, I'm afraid.

Prove it. That sounds more like what you want to happen rather than what is actually happening and posting VGC preorder numbers does not prove your claim.

Sony has exclusive advertising rights to Destiny and the white PS4 bundle had a lot of preorders. In fact, it still tracks ahead of some of the X1 SKUs on retailers like Amazon and Gamestop. The rest of the games help fill the needs of gamers who aren't into racers and shooters. Natural Doctrine appeals to the JRPG gamers while Guilty Gears appeals to the fans of the fighter genre. The X1 doesn't have games that cover these genres, these markets are PS4's for the taking.

It only added ~8k a week, that is really pitiful for an AAA game.

Most people that wanted to play it already got it on PS3.

TLOU remastered won't sell 1 million lifetime in the US.

He's cherry-picking; whatever parts of someone's post he thinks he can at least pretend to counter, he does. And he ignores what he can't actually work out a comeback for which, considering he can't work out a comeback for most stuff, means he ignores a LOT. How on Earth did you folks keep up with him for over a thousand posts? o_o I am in awe.

Wrong again... I told you using VGC numbers is wrong. I told you to prove it and instead, you just proved yourself wrong. Their preorder numbers are even worse. What are you thinking?! You just keeping making single sentence statements after statement without providing hard-cold evidence.

I'm going to guess you mean that Xbox in general is? Since the only Halo game on the X1 is Halo Spartan Assault, so the platform of choice for Halo players right now is the Xbox360, ontop of that I think you are mistaking Destiny for a Halo game.

Not that it matters tho, from this thread you've shown that you have a lot of misunderstandings, like what NDP is, what "Globally" means, What "soon" means, What "catching up" means. If you really want to suggest that you think that by being outsold each week by a small margin means the Xbox1 is catching the total sales of the PS4 slowly... I really dont know what to suggest, maybe just draw two lines on a piece of paper one going straight and the other going slowly and slowly away from it then think in your head what makes your point that soon the two lines would cross over each other.

It seems that you are now moving from the "soon" timeline to "this generation has just started" so you are now basically saying that Xbox1 might end up outselling the PS4 in maybe 8 years time like the PS3 passed over the 360 at the very end of the last gen of consoles.... but where is the proof of that? There is absolutely nothing you could know about gaming in 8 years time that would give an indication of which machine will be number 1, it could well be the Wii-U by then or the Ouya, to suggest anything else is just Hope and that is what you need to admit, that your prediction is based solely on Hope and not facts.
