Selling 35% more is hardly what anyone could describe as "very close" and it's clear judging from this table that the PS4 got a clean kill as far as winning goes.

For the XB1 to outsell the PS4 in the US, it has to 'outsell' the PS4 on a monthly basis. The PS4 outsold the XB1 by 73,000 this month and will likely repeat it this month by a slightly higher margin and in August by an even bigger margin. At which point is that huge gap going to begin to decrease? And when it DOES (if it does) outsell the PS4 monthly, by what YEAR are you expecting it to catch up and overtake the PS4? 2016?

i am finding it very hard not to say anything that would get me banned at this point. if MS won NPD, they would have said so with a mega phone. we have the numbers, they have been leaked better that any month in a while, we have seen EXACTLY what the numbers were. It wasnt close, and it most certainly didnt win.

a smart person would have admitted they were wrong and ask a mod for it to be locked

You all seem to forget the following facts:

1) It's not even 1 year of this generation

2) X1 doesn't have a full month on sales since the price cut

3) X1 is very strong in USA and the total sales between X1 and PS4 are very close in the US

4) The price cut alone got X1 close to or slightly more to PS4 sales.

5) My prediction includes the time from this price cut and is long term, it wasn't X1 will outsell PS4 1 months only in the US.

If you took the time to carefully read my original post, you would see that I said that it will happen by early or Q1 2015.

There is no way in hell that you are actually being serious now. I doubt any human being can be this adamant.

The PS4 has a 700k lead over the XB1 now in NA. For the XB1 to catchup/pass the PS4, it has to outsell it every month by at least 120k every month from now till december. Every ingle month that the PS4 outsells the XB1 now, that number goes up thus making it even harder for the XB1. June was the price drop month, and XB1 still gave up another 70k lead to the PS4.

The only way this prediction of yours will work is if somehow something makes the XB1 sell like 700k consoles more than whatever the PS4 sells by december.

To be clear, if from now till december the PS4 sells 3M consoles in NA, then that means the XB1 will need to sell at least 3.71M in the same time frame to be ahead. Again, that number goes up everytime the PS4 wins another month.
