At retail yes. But Nintendo at least did something this time around and started releasing GBA games on the Wii U virtual console. The likes of Golden Sun, Metroid fusion, Yoshis island, etc. have been coming out recently on the eshop.

So Next Gen so far is releasing vintage games?

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Next gen kinda sucks so far to be honest. Put greatness awaits for sure

It's been about as dull as I'd expected it would be at this point. I'll only be disappointed if E3 doesn't deliver.

Vintage games, ports of last gen. Seems to be the shizzle. :P

This is like, gen 7.2. While a small amount of it can be blamed on the usual early-gen drought, there's no denying that the magic and the need to upgrade just aren't as strong this time. I wouldn't be surprised if this one lasted even longer than the last, because we're running out of places to go.

Falling below. Same gen, prettier graphics.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It has been greatly underwhelming so far. I first thought it was just me; I felt that my interest in gaming has faded.

It's been rather boring but it has barely started so we'll see what happens at E3. It's nice to see MS changing it's ways though so far.

So, before the next gen consoles were all announced and released there was quite a bit of excitement about all the possibilities they would bring to gaming, how powerful the hardware would be and how amazing the games would be.

Have your expectations been met so far or has next gen fallen below what you expected of it?

About what I expected.  I thought the PS4 would be weaker and more expensive though (About as weak as the Xbox One is actually).  However when I saw the PS4's specs it did meet my minimum requirements for me to consider it a true upgrade rom last gen.

Yes that does mean I think the Xbox One fails to even meet my minimum requirements for being strong enough to be considered a full next gen upgrade.

"Next gen" has been below my expectations, definitely. I was hoping to see all kinds of new franchises, and new, innovative gameplay elements that just weren't possible last gen.

The only ones I'm impressed by so far are M$, and that's mostly because I had a pretty low opinion of them to begin with. Nintendo has been by far the most disappointing, though. Seriously, how do you screw up that badly?
