First 3DS came out and I was one of first day buyers - WOW real 3d without glasses - and then, out of nowhere "Where are the games?"
Then Wii U came out - you can't fool me twice - "Where are the games?"
Finaly I bought PS4 - now I'm like - WOW Wii U has so much to offer.

xD

Ohh come on you must be joking! There is another Wii U drought right now since DK TF, while games are constantly released for the PS4 since Feb. At least it looks like that in retail.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I'm impressed mainly by MS ability to change. The generation is moving exactly as I expected though, out of my price range and slow to get going, a year or so in and things will take off.

What I'm really waiting for is that game(s), the one that is the generations new new favourite thing.CoD, Uncharted and Mass Effect were last gens, I feel. Looking forward to what the new generation can produce honestly.

Hmm, pie.

It has been fine, the leap has been more of evolution (like NES to SNES) which I am fine with to see the end of ugly shading and lighting. Early days so library for PS4/X1 is still in infancy. I do not expect those two to hit their stride until 2015 really. The Wii U is coming into its own in 2014 and feels more attractive with each major release.

As expected, same gameplay with a new coat of paint

my expectations have been met.
PS4 doing great, XB1 continuing with its 180's. Still expecting a 180 on the parity clause, im sure that expectation will be met soon too.

I haven't been overly impressed. There is nothing on XBOne or PS4 so far that seems like a big change from PS360. On Wii U, I've enjoyed it and it's obviously much more powerful than Wii, but it's certainly coming up lacking in a few areas. It should have been a bit more powerful, and third party support that was promised and has been there to date may be drying up. There has also been a lack of innovation in the games. The best titles are 3DW and WWHD; World is fantastic, but it's a retro revival in 3D while WW is obviously a remake. Both are excellent in execution but neither seems like a big step forward. I have high hopes for X to live out the dream of playing Xenoblade in HD, and Zelda in HD should also be excellent. But there has been nothing offered on any system that has given that experience like popping F-Zero in an SNES, exploring in Shadows of the Empire, swinging a sword in Twilight Princess or even the simple visual splendor of playing Mass Effect in HD.

For interface, yes met my expectations.

PS4's interface is fast and slick, the console boots up fast, installs are fast and you don't have to wait for them, downloads are fast and seamless, online store is fast. I can take screenshots at the touch of a button, Playstation live is fun to browse for a couple minutes before turning the console off, just to see what idiots are on and what new games are out. (Flying around in War thunder looks great)
I still game as much on ps3 (drought as expected) and the experience is night and day. Sure my 340GB ps3 is almost full, likely also contributing to how slow it has become.

For games, hit and miss so far.

Finally native 1080p on console, everything simply looks a lot better without upscaling. KZ SF and Infamous SS also met my graphical expectations. Plus the sound design in KZ SF really feels next gen.
However, gameplay wise, game length wise, that's not there yet. Infamous SS is tons of fun, yet short. KZ SF gorgeous but just the same old. Anyway playing Child of light, NFS: Rivals, AC4 and Tombraider in 1080p without the hassle of upgrading and moving my pc was great.

My next purchase will be Mario kart 8. The WiiU is slow, it's wifi reception sucks, but the games are fun. Playing Rayman legends, Mario 2D/3D with the whole family is great. Zelda windwaker in HD simply stunning. I hope a new Zelda and Paper Mario will be announced at E3.

My expectation have been low, and what has been delivered has been ever worse. They cant even do 1080p at 60fps, wich was what they themselves promised.

At retail yes. But Nintendo at least did something this time around and started releasing GBA games on the Wii U virtual console. The likes of Golden Sun, Metroid fusion, Yoshis island, etc. have been coming out recently on the eshop.

I don't expect any expectations to be met until the end of the gen.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Expectations have been met. I'm enjoying this generation a lot so far.
