Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

That article is inacurate.

The 10% reservation is is for the whole OS operation, that include Kinect and voice comands. This footprint is surely to go down along the generation... with or without Kinect.

Unless they remove the ability to swap on the fly between games and apps.

Did you read the first sentance of the article?

So now it won't be Kinect optional, it will be "please disconnect your Kinect to play this game."

"war of perception among gamers that PS4 is more powerful."

What war of perception? It's a proven reality. Can 10% more GPU resource availability actually get a game from 900p up to 1080p? That's a 20% increase in resolution.

"Excuse me MS, but does that mean my games will run worse if I actually like to have Kinect plugged in?"

And so the fragmentation problems they've created for themselves start.

Exactly.

It seems microsoft just wants to patch things up, and convince people that X1 can have the same performance as PS4.

This info doesn't indicate that M$ is going to have any difference in the available resources whether you have the Kinect plugged in or not. The information is referring to better optimizing the available resources and turning more over to the developers for all games or apps regardless of whether the Kinect is used or not.

It is near the end of the end....

Wow... they keep on burning the early adopters.

Has it ever been any different? Original Xbox massive price cut after mere months, Xbox 360 massive RROD failures, HD-DVD add on. Kindle?.....

Funny how you don't hear the early adopters themselves
