i never thought they would dump their integral kinect to keep their us/uk market so hats off to them,impressive backtracking

no 180's left for teh warz since price is the most important and beating the WiiU numbers is next up for the ONE,come on nintendo do something...anything

The Live paywall and Kinect mandatory were in the same move. I'd consider this the second 180. Putting it at 360 so far. And I ain't paying $399 for an Xbox 360

Why not? Microsoft is quite insistent when it comes to such matters. "You will do as we say.", hence why things like Forza 5 happen. Hence why Rare was relegated to make rip-offs of Nintendo stuff.

Everyone better thank Sony because they are the reason for this. Also early X1 owners got screwed by MS with this price drop announcement.

There wasn't a price drop.  They removed kinect and $100.  Now you can get half the performance for the same price of the PS4!  What a bargain!

Probably the parity clause. Primarily because MS is now negotiating from a position of weakness as far as securing developers and their titles.

When lagging behind by such a significant margin this early in the game, you're really in no position to be placing demands and restrictions on potential partners, particularly when the current leader is doing everything in their power to secure as many titles as possible by creating as favorable a distribution platform as possible to developers.
