Forums - Nintendo - Playing Metroid Fusion (complete)

I have never played really any of the portable games for any Nintendo IP as I never owned the portable consoles. So now that Nintendo is opening up the GBA VC on WiiU I'm buying games I missed and know I would like.

Metroid Fusion is the first.

First off, love the game and its Super Metroid roots. Such a good base to start from. It certainly offers some fantastic difficulty in regards to the bosses, however, the guidance given is a bit more than needed. Its not hard at all to determine where to go and the indivudual rooms/corridors are rather simple. I think Super Metroid was better in that scenario.

I'm currently 1/2 done or maybe a bit beyond half way. I'm fighting the Plant Core X boss currently. Already died a couple times as I didn't realize I should jump straight out of the water vs spin.

If anyone loves Metroid here and hasn't played this game, you should. Definitely a quality title worth every penny.

EDIT: Finished!

Finally had some time to finish the game. AWESOME ending.

Stats were completed in 6:15hrs at 62% complete. Would have been significantly higher, but I didn't realize that if you go to a recharge station after killing Ridley that it locks you out of all of the other sectors. So I was unable to go back and get a bunch of crap I missed. Normally my first play through on Metroid games is in the 80%~90% completion area.

Ah well, now I know more of the secrets. Damn fine game.

I agree. Great game. The only thing I didn't like about the game is at the very end when you complete every area and you're going for 100%. Only one music track plays the remainder of the game.

I'm waiting for Zero Mission and Minish Cap.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Fusion is one of the Metroid games I haven't played yet. Will probably check it out soon though.

You should have gone with Unepic. Indie games are so much better than Virtual Console.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I played it on the gameboy advanced 10 years ago and still remember it as one of the best handheld experiences ever and way better than metroid prime hunters on nintendo DS.

9/10 ;))

If you like Fusion, you'll probably love Zero Mission: the bosses aren't as good, unfortunately, but it largely omits Fusion's biggest sin: restricting your freedom of movement.
