Forums - Microsoft - Why didn't MS leave the pricecut and app announcement for their E3 conference?

And now they've "pissed off" everyone that bought one in April, I don't really see a difference.

Also seriously people? You really think they couldn't have fit that announcement in without cutting on games? Or just make the conference a tiny bit longer to fit it in? I highly doubt that.

We'll see. I'm sure their conference is all planned out by now to the minute though.

Definitely, but look at the release date of the Kinectless X1, it is the day of their conference, so I'm almost willing to guarantee that they are going to mention the pricecut anyway.

Maybe it really was starting to get leaked as some people are suggesting.

Maybe they'll announce something bigger and this is just the appetizer for that announcement.

Everyone who bought a Xbox One in May will be pretty pissed. It's damage control!

Why? They got the best X1 sku.

I don't know what that'd be but sure, anything could happen.

It was said, but they want to show games and only games. They got the services and sku crap out of the way.

Where as "others" will waste time talking about features and hardware, MS will just focus on what games it has coming. They want to win the online forums after E3 settles. Core gamer word of mouth baby.

That's why it's an E3 surprise ;)

Because they have only 1 hour and half :) They have too many awesome news to announce and it will not fit.

Are you sure about that? "Screw Kinect" is basically the trump card to win over hardcore gamers and they just gave it away.

Which is why this makes me so anxious to hear what they saved for their E3 bombshell.

I'm sorry but I just don't believe that.

A pricecut and this whole thing with the entertainment apps (which apparently was a really big deal for some people considering it got 23k upvotes on Reddit), would have only made their E3 presentation better in the eyes of the core gamer and it wouldn't have taken long at all.

Also it is just too much of a coincidence in my mind that the new SKU comes out at the day of the conference, maybe they originally planned on revealing it at E3.

"DLC for Call of Duty will arrive first on Xbox One for the next five years."

Showing COD and saying that is bout on par with Sony spending 15 minutes showcasing Destiny ;)

Phil Spencer did say May would be a great month for news.....and he ain't kidding. This was calculated. MS didn't have to annoucne this all, but they did. They have some plan in place, what it is we don't know.

Guess the logic is that while great news, they are just business polocies that Sony allready has done. It is great news for Xbox fans, but non-news to prospective buyers and gamers in general.
