While some Nintendo multiplayer games do end up rather unfortunately unbalanced (though this was in the era before regular patches), you can't deny polish for game mechanics.

Balanced moba? Is there such a thing? I'm sorry but part of what makes LoL so fun is because it ISN'T balanced. It's just insane and characters change in terms of value based on your opponents and your allies. The best character in the match (out of 10)  based on chemistry and weaknesses of the other team could be the worst in the next match with 9 other new characters. Moba's are insane like Mariokart lol. There is no balance.

What you've described there sounds balanced to me - all characters have opportunity to be used because they are effective against different characters

Well I'm used to the mmo definition of balanced which means every class should be as equally powerful/weak compared to every other specific class.
