There are parts of the game that are insanely difficult (the time challenges and catching that damn trasure dude for example), but as a whole, I found it quite an easy game. So easy that I rebought for ps3 and trying to beat it again (though I have a rule of not replaying any game due to my huge backlog). Never tried multiplayer. Thought it'd make things harder if anything. 

Animal Crossing and Pokemon are perfect for little kids!

Since no one's said it yet, let me be the first to say she's TOTALLY ready for Zelda. I had a girlfriend once who played the original Zelda on the NES when she was 7, and I knew another girl who'd been playing since she was three. I think she'd absolutely love Zelda, so long as she can read. That said, it might be better to start her off with A Link Between Worlds, the latest one. Ocarina of Time is a classic though, and I know lots of people who played it when they were 7 and are now huge Zelda fans, and I think she could handle that one too. So don't be afraid to get OOT3D either. That said...

Animal Crossing. Lots of people have said it in this thread, but here's why: It's hugely popular among girls (yet still popular among guys too and easy to get into if you wanted to try it yourself), you literally can't lose because it's pretty much a sandbox type of game, and so long as she can read, she'll get full enjoyment out of it, potentially endless enjoyment at that, since the game is virtually limitless and never ends. From what I've heard, Disney Magical World is in the same spirit as Animal Crossing, so she'd probably like that if she likes Animal Crossing. Tomodachi Life is also quite similar, so if she likes those, she'll probably love Tomodachi life. My sisters played Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube when they were her age, and they still play it to this day, so I'd recommend the 3DS installment of the series as well. People have already said Kirby, and I absolutely agree. Yoshi's New Island is supposedly poor compared to the original, but it's cute, easy, and fun, just not quite at the previous games' standards. Pokemon was already fairly popular among girls, but X/Y is probably the most popular generation in the whole series amongst girls. It's easy enough that a kid can play it with no trouble, with enough depth that she'll have a lot of room to grow as she gets better at gaming. I'd also recommend Mario Party. People will tell you it's not the best game in the series, but it's not that bad, really. It's simple, cute, easy, and fun, and multiplayer, so she can play with friends and family. Mario Kart 7 is a safe bet for the same reasons, more so even, since it's considered top notch quality for the system.

Kirby Triple Deluxe

Pokemon X/Y

Luigi's Mansion

Also, does she have the original DS? If not, get her some DS games! It's backwards compatible!

She has played Zelda (I do not know which one) and he said she just got lost in its scale and figuring it out.

I do not know which one because he lives across the country from me (United States). I will ask which she played tomorrow as he is probably asleep already.
