Forums - Nintendo - Wii u will have sold 10 million by the end of this year

In fact, with a mere 1m for the holidays would get less than 8m. In order to achieve 10m it needs 2.1m in holidays which means it needs about another 1.8m in next 4 months. Not happening

Sad thing is that even if Mario Kart gives Wii U the 100% boost fans think it will it still wouldn't help. But I very much doubt that it would even do that because the majority of the Wii U's sales comes from the holidays. There's hardly ANY reason for a Wii U to be bought any other time throughout the year.

I'm optimistic, whatever you say.

I certainly hope so and I think its technically possible with the caliber of games coming out. However, I think that realistically there simply won't be that type of stock available as Nintendo has only stated they'd sell 3.6m between the beginning of April until the end of March 2015.

That means they will order a sufficient amount through now and this holiday to meet that goal. Unless MK8 shows dramatic improvement over the summer, I highly doubt they'll increase manufacturing as they will want to be profitable this next year and not have a lot sitting on shelves. Plus retailers are less likely to order that many unless preorders for MK8/SSB show they need to.

So, yes I'd certainly like to see that happen and think it within a realm of extreme possibility. But just at all likely.

If smash comes, then maybe. But It'll probably be its last 10 million

I make bad threads.

SSB really went downhill after Melee....

If  mk8 gives 500% week of. Small 20% drops for the following weeks for a month. And it settles at a new baseline doubled from what it was... Means it needs 2.25m in Nov and Dec... WHat i laid out is ludicrous... More like 80% drop week after mk8 and 500% would be pretty miraculous considering that would mean they would be pretty supply constraind being as that would be the amount they have on shelves according to v

I think he meant a reason to have consistent high sales through the whole year. Like 100k weekly
