I haven't seen any topics made for this. It's not really huge news, but as I was looking through the eshop yesterday, I found out this little tidbit. For anyone apart of the Wii U/3DS digital master race, you'll be happy to know that Mario Kart 8 will be releasing digitally at 12am, midnight, on May 30th!!! This is big because usually if you're into buying digitally, because Nintendo has the terrible habit of releasing a new game at like noon of the day it's released.

I expect lots of server crashes.

I feel like most Nintendo major 1st party releases are put up at midnight EST now. I've taken advantage of that quite a few times so far, its pretty awesome! (Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion, Pokemon Y, DKC Tropical Freeze)

Alas I cannot! I must get the Physical Version for you see.. I am in love with the wiiU discs... The smooth soft edges, the luscious round center, the fap worthy picture and the hard yet refined box cover, all this makes for a perfect and pleasant fap experience

Cool, I was always planning on getting it digitally, but I had no idea Nintendo had a habit of putting them up for download sometime duing the day, instead of @ midnight. So awesome news, then, as I'll be downloading it as soon as it becomes available.

I just hope their servers won't crash (although I have a feeling they will, ugh).

Mario Kart 8 is 5GB large... Most people have 300KB.

It would take rougly 5 hours at that download speed and if you have 500KBps then it would be like 2 hours so if you can go and buy mario kart go home and insert game disc into Wii U under 20 hours at best then I doubt that anyone will be able digitally beat you. I expect meltdowns of MK servers...
