PS4 has more sales because it is $100 cheaper

All of last gen this line was why the PS3 was said to be behind the 360 (many xbox fans denied it as the reason) and now the roles have reversed. The xbox faithfull have now used this line as their defensive model.  I find it kind of of hypcritical to be used so eagerly

yet somehow ps3 outsold it...why can't x1?

Thats a quick count of the number of 90+ games each console has on metacritic.

Now the last thing I want to do is get into a war about what the cut off should be, whether indies should be included, whether timed-exclusive counts etc.

The point this does very quickly and easily make though, is that any suggestion of a large quality and quantity advantage in favour of PS3 is a complete myth (especially when you consider that attachment rates for both consoles wound up between 5-8).

We know that Metacritic isn't a good way to rule this... and I'm not even sure what is the point in discussing which had more good or exclusive games when most people won't even get close to 60+ games in one gen... average in 10, so since there are guys like us that buy 100-200 games per console them normal folks are in the range you mentioned 5-8 so there is plenty of good games for them on gen 7 and even in gen 8... in X1 or PS4 you could buy 3 really good games and for a regular guy that is half the libary he will have.

Agreed.

It's not a myth. I should certainly know, i spent long enough making this thread :P http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=168885&page=1

It's a little out of date, but there are rather a lot more recent 80+ PS3 retail games to add than 360, so it's still valid for my argument. They do both have a few digital exclusive like TE and Journey, but i excluded smaller games/indies from the lists since they are held to a different standard than full retail titles.

I never said it was largely in favor of the PS3, but it did say it was a decent amount ahead. Personally, when considering the way in which most people scale meta scores for games, a 2.2 point lead for proper exclusive and a 3.3 point lead for all types of exclusive qualifies as a decent lead to me ^^;

As i said, if we include timed exclusives they are about equal as lifetime products, but from a present day perspective that's just not the case.

Idk how much time it takes to make those things. But I think you should make like 3 graphs ( the 2 you got now and 1 with kinect and move). Also I think it should be a new thread, so I can feel safer commenting in the thread :P. Otherwise nice work :).

Thanks :) I've been slowly working on a new thread that will include one for digital, the move/kinect graph as well as a next gen one (that i'll update very few weeks) but i haven't had the time or will power to get it done yet :p It's such a long/tedious task.

I will get it done eventually though ^^

Do we have any accurate numbers for Move on PS4?

Of course a nintendo fan will most likely favour MSFT over sony

Now many PS fans say it isn't the case as well. These type of arguments are useless because once the shoe is on the other foot, arguments flip. It doesn't stop people from using them constantly though. I recall when indies didn't matter, games on xbox and pc don't count because they were not exclusive to the xbox, and let's not go into paying for LIVE. Now look at those arguemnts.

And why would that be??? Because Sony ''killed Sega''?

In Japan and Europe Nintendo fan seems to preffer Sony.
