It started with the announcement of the then new Wii u simple as a thought on people minds and took flesh when the first trailer was shown.Excitement was all over the web.Many name it the Wii u savior.Others one of the most visually stunning game they have seen.Others have already given it game of the year status.The way Nintendo handled it's press image was pretty smart in my opinion too.The great direct that followed surely helped too.All that came together and made the internet react in a big way.Every day I visit a gaming forum in the past few weeks I see a new topic praising or hating on the game.Gamers argue hours upon hours about it and the discussion just keeps on going.So what do you think that caused this?Are you surprised?Are you impressed or dissapointed by the game so far?Has it exceeded your hype expectations?

I can't wait for it. While at this point anyone thinking anything will "save the wiiu" is fooling themselves, it will definitely sell very well and have a good boost in hardware sales. But in the end, its highly likely WiiU won't even break 15m total sales before its discontinued.

I will say that there's a surprising amount of downplaying going on for a game on a console that's supposed to be a non-factor.

Its certainly trending veryyy well!! I hope it sells really well cause by the looks of it, it deserves the sales!

It just may be the best game ever for me, but that doesn't mean others will think so/get a WiiU for it (at least enough people to "save" it).

Tragic that the greatest Mario Kart ever will be on one of the worst-selling Nintendo consoles. :(

MK8 probably won't save the WiiU, but at least it's going to kick a lot of ass and that's what matters the most!

It'll be a great game, but the console won't get the massive boost die hard fans are clamoring for. At this rate I will be surprised if the Wii U sells more than 12 millions lifetime. Positively surprised yeah.

But it's good that it's recognised around the web yep.

It would surely get some attention but for me it is really surreal how much it has gathered.The best is that it's almost universally praised.

No where near enough, I expected the MK8 hype to outshine the Sonynet for at least a week.

To outshine what?It's popularity is pretty big in my opinion.The positive voices about this game are only getting louder.
