Forums - Gaming - Megaton? Nintendo just spent over 100 million on a mystery acquisition

Nothing like companies posting massive losses and then spending even more money.

The Japanese are so silly.

Sony Fans tell me Nintendo doesn't spend enough money on things like this, they are being greedy and not investing.

You have to spend money to make money, I guess.

VR and all that sounds nice but QOL is non wearable according to Nintendo themselves.

Im so lost as to what QOL actually is

Something pretty big for sure. 100 million is a serious investment.

your constant "speculation" of this is making me ... well...... sepeculate. with your job, you probably would know if there was new hardware.

I dont see how his job would give him any inside informations so early on. His speculations are just that, speculations.

On Topic.

QOL stands for Quality of Life ?? Well this can be many things.

I kinda hope its VR related but I dont see Nintendo doing something so core audience related...

This year... only hardware will be QOL. But I don't see that as appealing to me or anyone yet. I think the dead sales of WiifitU and its fit meter show that ship has sailed.

Though I think this tech and the large R&D are for not only QOL but also a 2015/16 new hardware launch.

QOL has nothing to do with gaming.  They already said this.

And it will be called... Nintendo advance.

Again you are wrong. QOL isnt a gaming platform but it will be in some way interactive with games. Game development influences QOL and some mysterious part of QOL ties directly into games as per this slide. You also said it was wearable. Im sorry you havent done your research on QOL

E3 2014, Reggie walks out "You've seen the console we made for you, the WiiU, and now we present you something for them, the WiiDem. Now look at this awesome new controller."

I dont see how you can have hardware thats QOL that isnt wearable unless they are getting into fitnes equipment?

We shall see.

Research?  There is nothing out there other than cagey words and purposely vague stuff.  Makes me wonder if they actually know what it is themselves yet.

Anyhow... its called ADVANCE.

Hey Im with you man QOL as theyve explained it so far make no sense to me. It all seems very vague and just downright strange. Unless Nintendo have discovered some radical new technology I have no idea what this thing is supposed to be
