Nothing like companies posting massive losses and then spending even more money.

The Japanese are so silly.

Sony Fans tell me Nintendo doesn't spend enough money on things like this, they are being greedy and not investing.

You have to spend money to make money, I guess.

You absolutely have to spend money to make money. Nothing silly about it.

Edit: Sort of ninja'd by outlawauron.

they bought sony's last building (guess why all sony smartphones are rainproof)

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

so, where are the speculations?

here mines:
1- foldable screen, The next handheld system will have a sinlge foldable screen, and it can be used as a 3DS if you fold it in the middle, and can be used as a secind gamepad.

2-all graphene tecnology in processors. So the next home console will be 1000 times faster than ps4 and cheaper, and no other company can use graphene.

3 - QoL related: will be like a mix of wiimote and a cellphone. you can carry it for everywhere, but you cant wear.
d-pad and 2 buttons for easy play, and also a touchscreen. it will have lots of high precision sensors that monitor position, acelaration press, and even feelings(and this is the tecnology bought), there will be also a mini hdmi dongle to connect to tv and you can play games like wii sports in any tv.

is this included in the anual loss? I mean this accounts for 100m of their "losses" thb loss is such a bad word fur things like investment etc.

To me its obvious something major is going down with new hardware.

A 100 million mysterious acquisition

An increase of 270 million in R & D in a single quarter

The whole mysterious QOL

Nintendo has new hardware coming and we're going to see it soon

It's just going to be something stupid about QoL or nothing.

You want to imply they are making a new, graphically impressive, console. That's what would be exciting. But they're not, and probably never will again.

I never implied that anywhere........ever.....

Wut

I think it's almost certainly something related to their Quality of Life thing, which honestly probably won't interest me much, but I guess they have to start branching out into different areas of business since the game industry isn't going so hot for them.

$100 million investment isn't chump change so I guess they're going all in on whatever this is.

Imagine how many games could have been developed with that...

It's a chain of nursing homes.
