compare the same period sales  of nintendo wii u and 3ds sales on nintendo  ir site  and sales on vgchartz...!

Where did you get your data from?

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/sales/hard_soft/index.html :P

Ah, I see.  Ok, well this is a simple case of shipped vs sold then.  Nintendo tracks and relates the sales figures of hardware that are sold to retailers.  This site attempts to track the sales of units that are sold to consumers.  Having anywhere from a few 100k to about a million units floating around the retail channel is normal.

Now, thats not saying vgchartz are 100% accurate, because they aren't.  They are just estimates, not actual sales figures.

I say that every time somebody says VGC is wrong.

DS 763,857 (-29%) 41,789,481
PS4 471,720 (-37%) 4,146,957
XOne 295,737 (-26%) 2,919,036
PS3 291,303 (-11%) 80,608,923
WiiU 239,046 (-31%) 5,358,113
X360 213,391 (-32%) 80,020,037
PSV 201,695 (+11%) 7,214,557
PSP 86,931 (+6%) 80,206,837
Wii 75,344 (-27%) 100,383,113
DS 15,795 (-37%)    153,814,209

( As of December 31, 2013 )

Shipped vs. Sold. So while VGC could be a little low on those numbers compared to reality they were well within the bounds of estimation. The true obvious problem would be if VGC tracked ABOVE shipment numbers...

oh you re right...why some companies dont announce their actual sales?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Where did I call you an Xbot? It's just timely considering the debate we are currently having the the console sales thread.

Is there even that many people saying NDP is 100% accurate to justify this thread?  I haven't seen anyone saying its 100%, just that its the most accurate thing we have to work with.

I guess your issue then is that you have absolutely no NA consumer sales data that's better than NPD. Even the first party companies will just cite NPD when they talk about consumer sales in NA so there really isn't any source for more accurate information and all you could say is how many units things shipped.

there is a difference between using it as guideline or believing it is 100% correct

If you've worked in statistics, you tend to understand that as long as the sample size is large enough and you are being unbiased in which retailer you choose (which is where NPD kind of falls off. Don't they not track Walmart for video games?), you can have the sample reflect reality. With a large sample, you can state with a high degree of confidence that the "real" value is about X, plus or minus a margin of error.
