Does anyone expect Driveclub to be a big hit? Unless Sony bundles the game for free this holiday I'm only expecting 1m lifetime. Sim racers don't seem to be very popular outside of established franchises.

Maybe I'm being too pessimistic with the game.

I think it may be a flop.  Unless the game gets great reviews, like 85+ metacritic, but I can't really see that happening either.  I definitely think Sony would have lost a fair bit of money on this title

It's definitely not going to be hit in the US, which is a darn shame. If Evolution makes a Driveclub 2, the 2nd iteration might do better. By then, consumers will have a positive expectation for the 2nd game in contrast to not having any expectations for the first.

The only way I can see Driveclub taking off is if consumers are very impressed with the PS+ version that they get the full game and/or the game gets critically acclaimed reviews. I highly doubt the latter will happen because considering how mediocre gaming journalism has been, lots of points will be docked off for the silliest of reasons.

I'm talking about bundling the game with hardware. Though I don't see how offering a version of the game with less content on PS+ can be considered bundling.

Anyone here wishes that driveclub was open world? I am not a big fan of racing. But I would have purchased it if it was open world.

but it wouldnt have looked nearly as pretty as it does now

and i dont think clubs would have worked as effiecent as it might be now.
