Not only is it an outstanding Vita and PS4 game, but it’s the first game in a long time to give me the thrilling sense of mastery that a well-played level of Sonic the Hedgehog used to back in the 90s.

Been playing First Light for about 2 hours and just 100%ed all collectibles :(
So short. Didn't do any real mission though yet.

How can you say it's short without doing the missions? -_-

Um... I'm saying collecting all the collectibles is short. Took me like no time at all, especially since it's only lumens, races, and tagging (later something else is added). Missions are also short regardless and the whole second half of the map is locked (I'm like at the end, so I'm not sure it stays unlocked). So far about 5 hours I've gotten out of it. I do plan on getting the plat so that should add another 2-3 hours in end game challenges and arenas. So overall probably an 8-10 hour game depending on skill and difficulty.

Very good for $15 IMO, but again, it is short, especially for those who want to play more.

8-10 hours is like almost the same as the base game lol

Not if you're going for the plat.

lol maybe it was. I played the game twice, and got all colelctibles and trophies. Probably got around 25-30 hours out of it. Plus I loved going back as the concrete power and using that rock move, LOL!

Velocity 2X currently holding 87 metacritic. The same as Velocity Ultra on Vita. Expecting it to fall a bit but not below 85.

Indie crap.

Told you it would be good.

What does @Ka-pi have to say for himself??

hehe, ummm.... I'm going to go hide now

And so you should. It's about time

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Looks like Minecraft PS4 is releasing real soon, appears on the app on the Storefront but link doesn't work

Cba to do those challenges in First Light, lol!
Really great game none the less. The ending level was really unique and I enjoyed how everything came to be with Fetch and her story. I don't get the complaints with only having one power, since there is plenty to do with it, also loved traversing the city better as Fetch than Delsin thanks to speed boosts.

Overall 86/100
Wouldn't even mind a Eugene DLC.

People complained about that? Really didn't bother me, Neon was pretty much the only power I used for Delsin anyways

Smoke and congrete were my favs :D

Sony releases level editor that's open source and engine agnostic:

Developers in need of level design tech, take heart: Sony has released a standalone level editor that developers can download and use for free under the terms of the Apache 2.0 open source license.

The editor purports to be compatible with any game engine via its API suite, and offers a WYSIWYG interface and tools written in a mixture of C# and C++. It's designed to render in 3D using DirectX 11, and supports simultaneous use by multiple developers.

The editor was built using Sony's Authoring Tools Framework, a game development toolset that was released to the public as open source software earlier this year. Presumably, the company is hoping to drum up goodwill among developers and attract more independent talent to its platforms.

The ATF itself a set of software components, written in C#, that has been used to build tools for a variety of Sony first-party games, including Naughty Dog's Last Of Us level editor and the sequence editor Guerrilla Games used to build multiple Killzone games.
