JustBeingReal said: Not only is The Last Guardian alive, it's coming out this year! It's the 10th anniversary of when Shadow of the Colossus released on the 18th of October and consequently this is the 20th anniversary of E3. TLG will be reintroduced at E3, with the same release date as SoTC! Seems kinda perfect too me! I think Sony will have a huge blowout because it's the 20th anniversary of E3, so any huge games they have coming soon will be re-introduced there. Be hyped people!!!!!!!!!! |
Says who? Please have info....

The timing just seems perfect too me, I don't work in the industry or even know anyone that does, nor have I seen anything suggesting this, just a personal hunch I have.
You couldn't get anymore perfect a time to re-reveal the most hyped game in limbo than at the 20th E3 and to release The Last Guardian exactly 10 years since Team Ico's last game came out, it just all seems perfect.
I'm not an insider or anything though, just guessing really.
Sony has said it's still alive, in development and Shu insists Sony has a timeframe for the game, I just can't see any better settings to do it!

I called it Jan 1st, you can quote me to people wanting sources, I'll be like an insider after I nail this prediction
But just to you to know, last PSX was PS1 20th anniversary (thst why se actually got the event) and was also LoD 15th anniversary, one after the other with a one day difference, and they didn't even mentioned it in any kind or way, so don't expect them to be ploting something like this becayse of annuversary dates.

Legend of Dragoon had a sequel announced, but it was officially canceled, LoD also has only an average Metacritic score (74). While the original may have been loved by it's core fanbase (I don't particularly see it mentioned that much, just the odd time), I don't think it's anywhere near as loved as Ico or SoTC.
Ico and SoTC have a metacritic of 90 and 91.
Sales for all of the above are each over a million for VGC numbers, digital can obviously mean more on top of that.
Most importantly TLG hasn't been canceled, in fact when pushed Shu or anyone that could possibly know about the game insists it's still very much in development, the same can in no way be said for LoD.
Despite Shu being in charge of WWS now and having been the Producer for LoD he's not (too my knowledge) mentioned anything about a new LoD happening (while it may at some point), he doesn't seem to even know why the sequel was canceled (which is surprising considering he's the boss of game development at Playstation).
Sales for all of these games seem pretty comparable, but the overall scores do seem much better for the Team Ico games, so I suppose the team may be one that Sony aren't at all bothered about sinking money into to make a game, but LoD not so much.
Maybe Shu doesn't feel the concept for LoD can go anywhere and TLG has a lot more potential.
Anyway I just thought the dates thing kinda lined up, sort of. ;)
I hadn't seen you mention this E3 being the 20th one and the 18th of October being the 10th anniversary since SoTC came out. TLG was announced at E3 as well, we'll see if anything happens, my appologies if I stepped on your toes, this was not my intention, nor did I necessarily believe myself to be the only person who may have noticed this thing. :)
