It would be a bad move to buy Nintendo, they are overpriced. The way they handle things, you can get them for 50% of the price in 2 years.

I would like a Mario Kart on a existing, proven and working online network though.

What a joke. Beeing in a network under a different brand magically makes it better huh? It might come as a shock, but Nintendo network works and you dont even need to pay for it.

Oh come on. The quality difference between MS and Nintendos network is HUGE.

Heck, Nintendos biggest first party game this year, or maybe even for the entire generation, might not even have ingame voice chat.

Call me optimistic, but I think Halo 5 will have this feature.

Online, just like HD, was not a focus for Nintendo and MS was the one pushing it big. This is one of the reasons why Nintendo is in trouble and the Wii U is just as healthy as the Vita. Nintendo totally missed the online market.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Mario Kart 8 doesn't have voice chat because Nintendo doesn't want it in there, not because they couldn't do it.

To be honest I really don't want to hear a steady stream of cursing, racial slurs, etc. etc. from a 13-year-old (or a 28 year old with the brain of a 13 year old) while I'm playing Mario Kart anyway.

Nintendo's problems are wider reaching than their online network.

Nintendos quality excells at making games. MS excels at making OS that function around multiplayer and multimedia. Outside of titles they've acquired from Halo to Gears they its pretty laughable to even compare them. To make a comparison between MS and Nintendoin game making  is a joke. All of their good stuff came from outside of their realm, because whats inside is as quite deserted.

There exists the mute button for a reason. No reason to punish the rest of us who want to talk to friends while playing online MP. There is no negatives to providing people with simple options.

Options are always good, but having voice chat in mario kart is completely unecessary. Its not a cooperative game.

Like soundwave pointed out, it would just be a place for slander.

They could learn marketing! How a real online service with accounts work.

I wouldnt see it as a bad thing.

What if Nintendo kept all creative freedom? All MS would do is integrate their games into Live's infrastructure as well as optimizing the graphics potential? So basically classic Nintendo creativity with Xbox's superior graphics and online network. That, would be bad for the fans over at Sony camp.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Do you ever think past these lowly console wars ?

(A serious question ...)

When did games need to be cooperative for friends to talk? I often talk to my friends on party chat while playing the same game or completely different games. Even in co-op games, we'll mostly talk about random things and much less about the actual game since we already know what we need to do.

Again, mute button is quite helpful if you don't want to listen to strangers. Or if you don't want to talk to anyone at all, use parental controls to turn voice chat off period.
