Forums - Gaming - Wolfenstein (2014) is a large game.

Tagged games:

"Bethesda also announced that the PS4 and Xbox One version of Wolfenstein: The New Order will require a minimum of 8GB of hard drive space, and 47GB for a total install."

Is this a misunderstanding? Is there any other X1 or PS4 game with a minimum install?

"The PS3 version, meanwhile, takes up 17GB as a download and 8GB for the disc version, whereas the Xbox 360 version will require an 8GB install and will ship on four discs."

Not made by Bethesda, this is for id Tech 5's trademark megatextures.

Ah, my mistake. OP mentioned Bethesda but not the dev.

not surprised at all, titanfall for pc used more or less that amount, for some reason the audio takes up an insane amount of space, seems like a trend is starting.

Unlike Titanfall the amount of space is more justified for Wolfenstein seeing as how it likely uses id tech 5's megatexture technology which means that each texture in a scene is emphasized as being unique and not reused on different objects while providing a more aggressive LOD system to improve texture quality where necessary.

Yikes, suddenly the 5 GB of Mario Kart 8 doesn't sound so bad.

Why does 5GB sound bad?

There were games on PS2 that were larger than that. Every single X1/PS4 retail game is larger than that.

It does if you own a 16gb wiiu, thats virtually 1/3rd of your space, thats comparable to a ps4/xbo game taking up 166gb.

and even if you own the 32gb model like me, its still comparable to a ps4/xbo game taking up 80gb.

Damn, son. I thought I'd never see another Lost Odyssey DVD situation
