WiiU slightly overtracked.

3DS.... Massively overtracked. If I'm reading this right.

Unless insta-changed.. front page currently has wiiu at 6.1m and 3DS at 44.3. So I'd say VGC is pretty darn close... arguably right on for WiiU and slightly overtracking 3DS.

3DS slightly over-tracked? It has 1 million more units sold than the official total shipment numbers? It's over-tracked by at least 1.3/1.5 million units. That's a lot.

Looks they are giving up on the Wii u, I expect a replacement to be unveiled next year. It's a pity really I hate to see them fail this way but frankly hopefully they learn from this fiasco.

The problem will be that if they do that then nintendo will need to make software to two new machines with a year difference and they are running tight as it is

Fucking ouch. This should wake the last people up.

Btw dod they hit their shipping target for the Wii U this year?

It didnt, it hit like 30% of the taret

30%? Are you sure? I just googled and I think they had shipped 3.45 at the of the last fiscal year. So they shipped 2.72 this year, while their target was 2.8 according to the OP, that's more like 3%.

Is good to see Nintendo being succesful with RPGs like Pokemon, Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario, no other company can have three different RPG franchises selling over 2 million each

Yeah you're right. Slightly is a poor word choice. But so is massively on 44m total shipped. We're talking only a ~3% difference here.

2.8 is their revised target.  Original target set last April was 9 million.

They projected 9 million and only shipped 2.72 http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/24/wii-u-shipments-miss-targets-at-3-45m-fy14-forecasts-of-9m/

Biggest red flag to me is the 3.6m expected next full fiscal year. I know they are being very conservative since its been so off the last two years, but damn. That's retirement numbers there.

Well I have been saying for awhile now that I think next home console will be revealed in 2015. Sad as WiiU really is an amazing console IMO.

True, but looking ahead at the schedules they are rather slim, this combined with very large R&D costs suggests something is happening. I reckon they will unveil their home console and hybrid handheld unit sooner than later.
