Forums - Sony - Driveclub runs at 1080p 30fps

PS4 can do realism at 1080p/60fps. Of course it has limits, but they're not that bad.
Ok, now i know you are trolling.

Reaching such level of realism on next gen is bad because it's 30fps ? either you are trolling, or just out of your mind,  and even if it can do more in the future, the power will be in better realism again and not framerate, until there is nothing more to do for realism

30fps simply feels less responsive than 60fps because of half as many updates per second. It's not game breaking or anything, but given the choice, 60fps is always the better choice in my view.

The problem here is that you read somewhere that it can have this effect, not that you ever experienced it or have played any games that felt bad because of it.

Seems like you're stubbornly taking the bad faith route just "because".

I play a lot of 60fps racers like F Zero so I can immediately feel the diference with 30fps.

You would complain even if it was 60 fps. Obviously you don't want any racer to overshadow your dear Mario Kart 8.

No, I wouldn't. And please, don't try to turn this into a console war. I'd slam Nintendo too if they made a 30fps F Zero.

It can still be very realistic at 60fps though.

And I would criticise Sony too if DriveClub was not highly detailed (like racing games on other consoles) and not ambitious.

Good; it's a healthy thing to be able to criticise your company of choice. :)

It can still be very realistic at 60fps though.

But not far to be as much ambitious as at 30fps, so since realism is more important for most people than framerate since you like most people didnt care about 30fps in PGR , F:Horison or NFS, they go for realism and they are right, immersion is more important, framerate is just one thing among others in the immersion.

Framerate affects gameplay more than the added graphical flourish that 30fps allows though.
