I've heard that it's price is ¥4999 Chinese Yuan, doooooooooooomed confirmed. No Chinese gamer will pay such a sum of money for a TV box.

It's fake news,BesTV/MS never announced the price,if fact,it's a April fool news but some Chinese shitty media still trust right now without even 1 second thinking

Nope, this is fake news(and that's what i mean "some shitty Chinese site still trust right now") ,i already report to gov
I know chinese(hell,i'm chinese) and i know it's fake news,MS and BesTV NEVER announced the price in their announcement

Even a big gaming forum who favor to Sony like A9VG already banned this news

Go check the surface/surface 2 price,it's basically US's price x 1.17(tax)

What NeoRatt said ...

The fact that China has some extremely tight regulation on media in general means that neither the xbox one or the PS4 will be very successful seeing as how all of the AAA high quality games are mostly M rated.

Why did nobody else think of this ?

they did which is why the partnered with a chinse company to handle chinse games and to work with other compines to help get there games released there

The way I see it chinese game developers will favour PC over xbox and publishing a game to China will be no easy task considering the fact that alot parts of the games will get censored or completely removed in general.

I know this was in their planning all along. Seems like they are actually able to follow through make it happen. It should be big for Microsoft and for promoting good Internet connections in China.

This could be really big, and good in a way if China can get more of an open Internet.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

You're way to optimistic.

Best Case scenario: a couple million sales.

PC is GOD in China however.

So its a blue ocean in theory, red ocean in practice.

Whether or not the XB1 can compete with chinese PC market in september remains to be seen.

However, if there is any place they can get the jump on PS it will be in china. Unless ofc, Sony has enough supply from the summer drought to release there in september as well.

Why is it a bad thing for the Xbox One that Chinese gamers play mostly on PC?

This is not a strong argument, because they did not even have a choice so far.
And owning a gaming PC does not mean that they can't buy a home console as well.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

you're looking at it through the wrong lens.

One of the main advantages of consoles is the price to performance ratio.

the chinese PC market has a much higher price to performance ratio then the rest of the world.

that poses a threat to any console attempting to sell in that country.

So your point is not the PC, but the higher price tag for the console in China.

Partially, PC is part of it, but price is most of it.

China appears to be free of competition because of the console ban.

But because of the console ban, they've been PC gaming while the rest of the world was on consoles.

That whole MS-Based exclusive thing that some people claimed with Titan Fall ain't gonna fly in China.

Cause those who have PCs will most likely get the PC version over the console version, and MS is going to have a hard time convincing people to buy an XB1 even if it had nothing but pure exclusives.

They have to beat the price performance ratio and convince chinese that its a valuable purchase. If anything, the Kinect seems like one of the only things in china that will be a selling point for it.

It will be difficult but not impossible. Definetly harder than the U.S, but they've got a fresh start and no console competiton unlike Japan.
