A month or so back, Nintendo filed a trademark for a game named S.T.E.A.M: Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace. It was weird because it was out of nowhere. No one predicted it and no website said that Nintendo were going to file a trademark for it. I was wondering what people think of it and what they think it is. What genre, concept, or even setting? Is this Miyamoto's IP? Retro's second game? Maybe just a regular announcement?

To me, it sounds like a FPS, but not a military one but an alien shooter. There has been sepculation that Miyamoto's IP is a FPS so this might be it. I think this is going to be a Metroid Prime x Call of Duty game. The aliens and  creatures may be similar to those in Metroid games but the whole Strike Team being like a high tech Call of Duty alien hunting army. 

I just hope that if it is an alien type FPS, I hope Nintendo announce a military FPS to provide an alternative to BF and CoD, and Halo and Titanfall, but it must obviously be unique.

I think it's the new FPS IP. Now, I'm sorry, but why does this sound so childish? Not that I don't truly have anything against the title, but.. Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace? Ehhh..

Ah man if it's an FPS i'll be really disappointed. I was hoping for something along the lines of either a RPG or a Animal virtual pet simulation type game :X.

Maybe it could be like Skylanders but with aliens and creatures.

It's a secret agreement with Valve about STEAM and the eShop/next gentendo. Obviously.
