It feels just like the early days of the PS3 and the 360.......and I am OK with that!

The thing is, games lists done correctly is a very scientific way of presenting a difference between systems.
Of course, it's hard to compare different games from lists, but as you said, metacritic does help in that respect.
A lot of people do it wrong, but when done correctly, list warz can be very useful in showing trends, though not a strong argument when compared with a gamers' personal tastes. However, often times, a list can show catalogue which may equal another.
For example, If I posted that ps3 had last of us, and that was a game you really wanted but you also forgot that 360 had halowars and alanwake and deadly premonition which you also wanted to play, you might consider that those 3 games were equal in value.

If a console was judged primarily just off the number of games that was released on it regardless of quality, budgets, or in terms of what hardcore gamers wants then IOS devices would be the number one console without question.

I think these lists are only brought up in defense. Only if someone claims this console has no games or that console has more exclusives do you see these lists. Would be pointless to post them if everyone just agreed that games are irrelevant for a console purchase.

Hmm how else would you create a thread comparing the number of games on various consoles if you cant use a list?

Number of games being one of many key metrics in determining the value of a console.

I see this thread as just a reaction to the PS4/XBO games list where X1 gets handily beaten in the latter months...and clearly that's upset you as evident by this response and your responses in the thread itself.

That particular list is actually a very relevant list in that it is a direct result of the decisions both Sony and MS made when building their consoles.

But nevermind any of that lets just get rid of lists probably because it doesn't suite me. Such a ridiculous claim.

I reckon the list wars will stop when certain fans of a certain console stop making false statements. Until then, I think it's important to keep pressing home the reality.

Seems more than I find lists to be of little value and filled with propaganda.  Youre more than welcome to continue in your list wars, be my guest.  You dont have to agree with me, never said you did. if it makes you feel better listing games or defending them, then do so.  

I also think you need to learn what opinions are and not just dismiss something as "ridiculous" because you have a different view.
