Oh God, no. Here we go again...

Hopefully they at least make blue shells less common and less powerful.

Pro Controller master race

Most likely Wii U GamePad with no motion controls. If for whatever reason it hinders my performance I will use the Wii remote + nunchuck combo until I get myself a Wii U Pro controller.

On a side note, how exactly does the second screen help you avoid blue shells? If it shows a list of each player's items I will definitely use the GamePad, but I hope it doesn't since that feature broke Mario kart 7's online (with people at first place breaking to avoid the blue shells and such). If the screen only shows items laying on the track though I can live without it.

How'd that brake it? It makes things more fair and balanced as 1st place will actually have a chance to avoid it, and with people slowing down at the front, it means the Blue Shell can actually help the person who got it!

Because it's more comfortable and has 20times the battery life of the gamepad I always play with the pro-controler when I have the chance and when the gamepad adds nothing wich seems to be the case for MK.

Not quite!

Probably the most important feature is #1, which displays what items everyone has and what position they're in. Feature #2 being the troll horn is definitely the best feature though lol! #3 toggles between off TV mode, #4 displays a map of the course instead of the horn (despite the awesomeness of the horn, the map is more important!), and #5 just toggles between motion and analog controls.

The troll horn is the best thing in Mario Kart since snaking.

I guess it comes down to taste. Personally i find it ridiculous how slowing down and even driving backwards can benefit a player in a kart race.

I'd play with my Wii Wheel or with the gamepad, but I don't have a Wii U, so yeah..

*Gasp!* Will you ever get one?

I dunno man.. Maybe when a Super Smash Bros bundle comes out but I just don't feel like buying one. Spoiler alert, I'm gaming less and less recently, so I don't know if that is a bad sign.

This is what happened to me too during the 6th generation. The Wii rekindled the fire though, the solution for me was to get to a platform where gaming is less serious and hobbyist, and more what I want from games: funtime with friends and family.

Oh god yes!

Don't worry though, from what I've seen, all items in general have been nerfed, as the recovery time after getting hit has been reduced. Lakitu also saves you much faster, so getting hit by Lightning or the Blue Shell in a flying section is not as bad. It also seems like you won't lose your item anymore even when it's being dragged after taking a big hit, so that should help prevent the whole blue shell followed by red shell followed by bullet bill nonsense, especially since you can only have one item at a time now. From what people who played the game at the preview event are saying, it seems the Blue Shell shows up less often. Of course, all of this could change in the final game.

Gamepad. Oh yes.
