Microsoft had the money and helped fund its development. So definitely not pointless, plus increased sales over 90% and sold over 1,000,000 on X1 alone.

So where was EA in this whole situation?

In MS back pocket of course.

..and what a scary world it is for the industry when those two put their brilliant heads together. Their mentalities are the perfect marriage outside of Activision.

Nothing scary about it, its business.  EA wanted a partner to finish a project.  MS and Sony was asked, MS stepped up to the plate.  Next time it probably woudl be Sony depending on the project.  Really, you guys need to wake up and understand that games are a business and a very risky one at that.

No offense but the American corps will be the first to take your rights from you when its all said and done. The writing is on the wall, bro. They will drag us kicking and screaming into Xbox Live/Origin land in the near future. Be happy for what freedoms you do have right now. Hopefully Nintendo stays away from them, because I know they'll probably take Sony down with them

Just so I am clear, you believe Sony does not have asperations for PSN to be included in your list.  As a gamer I always have my freedom because I just do not put to much stock in it.  If a company does something I do not like, then I am out.  No tear will be shed because I really have so much to do that its hard for me to find time to do it all.

LOL The only thing protecting gamer rights at this present time is First-sale doctrine, not the opinion of yourself or myself. Without it say hello to the world MS and EA had been hoping would've been realized this gen until Cinemablend blew the whistle on them. Hope you know what that is. I'll be back later.

No, even the first sale doctrine really govern companies like MS, EA, Activision, Sony, Nintendo you name it.  What govern these companies is their wanting your money and competition in the market.  If one ever get to much success, they would throw their weight around and try to control the market.

Ha, MS and EA would love to force you to only have one option if it were up to them.  Consumers are one part of the equation.  Competition for your money is what keep these companies in check.  None of these organizations are above the rest.  When Sony, Nintendo and MS has smelled their success, they have all abused their power.  Without competition, none of them would care about the consumer or even their partners.

Well EA hates Nintendo and they don't trust Sony as much as MS because its a japanese company.

EA has been trying to have it's own COD for many years. Finally they got it, and they messed it up.

Call of duty wasn't this big when it first came out. It took time for it to be the huge franchise it is now.

True, COD did not become big until Modern Warfare.

It is not even close to CoD... even Battlefield is bigger than Titanfall right now.

Really Tomas?

Comparing a franchise to a new entry must be the thing now.

Don't let the hate blind you friend.

If Titanfall sells 3 million combined on Xbox platforms and royalties to the platform are 20%, that's 36 million dollars. Add in whatever additional consoles it sold extra and the dollars those console owners will spend over the generation, and add in ancillary money from DLC platform fees and Live accounts and the like, and MS easily got the rumored $50 million worth in loans and funding it gave EA/Respawn.

I mean, the marketing budgets for these consoles are huge, and you can't begin to put a price tag on the extra PR push it gave the console. They could easily be dead in the water without Titanfall ending up in their stable. I still think Titanfall moved a lot of consoles in the launch window - - people buying early knowing it was coming and helping them pull the trigger on the X1 purchase. I know it was a factor in my getting one at launch, even though the game came out so much later.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

I think sales would've been better if Titanfall was released in Oct. or Nov. since it's such a mainstream game.

So Titanfall is the EA's CoD.

It is sad but I have only one word to describe who believe that or agree with... FACEPALM!

The overhyped blinded you guys.
