Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo games that lack the Nintendo feel

Pokemon Coliseum by far, not only it lacks charm, the game is extremely flawed and bad. Haven't played XD but I guess is the same.

Metroid: The Other M
Steel Diver
Wii Music
Rustys: Real Deal
Super Mario Bros 2
Paper Mario Sticker Star
Yoshi's New Island

What if I were to tell you, Paper Mario Sticker Star was the best in the series... :O

At first I couldn't tell if this was a GIF, so I just stared at the screen for a good 20 seconds before realizing it was just a pic... lol

And nah, I think it's better than the Wii Paper Mario, but no where near the N64, or cube PMs.

Every Nintendo fan knows what I'm talking about when I say their games normally have a certain feel or charm to them. Name some games that lack this in your opinion.

Some examples: (to me)

  • Metroid Prime 3 Corruption (only Metroid I tried so don't know about the others)
  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Mario Kart Double Dash
  • Star Fox Assult
  • Console Pokemon after the N64 ones
  • Endless Ocean Blue World

MK Double Dash and Sunshine feel like the Nintendo games with the most Nintendo feel out there imo.

Most Nintendo Wii games feel like they lack the Nintendo feel to me

Lolll, I was thinking to do a gif but it was taking too long to find one so I decided to do a pic instead.

But idk, I liked the wii's Paper Mario more than sticker star... I just dont like this whole sticker concept they put in lolll

O_O I thought that was an amazing game with a real futuristic Nintendo feel (and Metroid feel)

But I agree with the rest. Also, I can't think of anything right now but I'll update when I come up with something. Other M is an example but that was very much Team Ninja.

Yep.

See for me I knew the limitations and what the game was. I had to adjust my expectations for the game. Instead of looking at it and playing the game like a Paper Mario, I looked at it more of like an action adventure game, like Zelda.

I still can't believe the devs wanted to make like an all out sequel to TTYD, but Miyamoto axed it... like wtf? If they make a Wii U version it better be like the first 2. Partners, badges, and meaningful turn based gameplay.

People can dump on U all they want, but if they we get a good Paper Mario, alongside maybe a Metroid, and Fire Emblem, I'll be very satisfied with my U. :)

games from the Wii-/Mii-franchise
Brain Age
Pilotwings
Steel Diver
Excite Bike/Truck
Wave Race
F-Zero
Star Fox (except Adventures)

Doesn't mean that they're all bad or something...

Brain Age definitely had that Nintendo feel for me xD It had all the polish and humour, which is surprising considering the genre of game

Yeaa, the main reason I usually buy a Nintendo console is usually for MK, SSB and Zelda... I was beginning to wonder if Nintendo would deliver on those games but when they released that Rainbow Road Trailer and the new Zero Suit Samus.... I basically went gg Nintendo, you have managed to WoW me once again

Totally disagree with the Wii series - they were almost clinically clean in their presentation; felt very Nintendo to me
