Rosebud was the last word uttered by Charles Foster Kane before he died. It was a mystery to everyone that knew him what it meant and he took the secret of it's meaning to the grave. |
Rosebud is painted on his old sled (which is burned at the end of the movie). Kane points to the sled when he dies. The sled is an allegory for Kane's youth, but this is only revealed to the viewer. Well chosen allegory for this thread, fkusumot
So, basically the site took the Famitsu numbers for Japan and NPD for North America, and presented it in an easier way? How far it has grown...

Heidir never posted much here on VGC forums....I was just about one of the few top-10 predicters to ever really post alot.
When the old league died, he kinda......vanished.
I remember Komodo, and the 'old crew' for predicters - Square007, Zsidane, Komodo, and a few others.
As for me being one of the older mods.....Definately not true. There were about 3-4 mods before I got the modship badge - namely because I helped start, and work, and tabulate the first very few American Monthly Prediction Leagues we had in the forums....All 7-8 users ;) ioi eventually granted me Administrator acess to create/edit the leagues...and the rest was/is history.
I want to say Shams, and BenKenobi were 2 of the earliest mods.
Good classic thread: December 06 NPD thread of joy:

The very old layouts brings back some memories.
@mrjuju- I completely forgot about monty! haha. That guy refused to accept that the Vgchartz 360 numbers were correct.

Well, in a way... ioi always used his own numbers but in the beginning he had to figure out how to extrapolate them properly and the only realistic sources to use were NPD and Famitsu/Media Create. I think he has all but stopped using those three as a guide now though.
@Oyvoyvoyv. That is just a list of when each current mod joined... Twesterm (or Tvestern if you like) and Bod are the newest mods, even if they joined before Naz/Montana
Wow. crazy stuff, the site is much better now.
Nintendo still doomed?

Here are the old pages for vgchartz.com as well

unfortunately it doesn't seem to have one from just before the re-design, the latest is August and it doesn't seem to load properly for me (the tabs at the top only appear for "Home" "World" and "America".
