Forums - Gaming - Do you think it's wrong to buy used games?

Not this again. Of course it's fine to buy used. It's called the free market. Make a game that people want to keep if you don't want them to sell it.

I like supporting the Game Developers as it is a very tough industry, and honestly I feel like the developer deserves to get my money If I buy a game, not the retailer.

Just look at all the developers who have been hit by layoffs recently, or studios like Irrational letting go of 90% of thier staff to become indy because they didn't make enough money.

I know a lot of people say that getting layed off and getting a new job is "just a natural part of the industry", but if you think about it, how would you like to have to pack up and move every 2-3 years to try and get a job somewhere because you got laid off?

No. If developers make a game that one person doesn't want to keep and the game later gets bought second hand by someone who actually does want to keep it, they only deserve earnings of one copy.

I don't buy used cause I can't touch a case and game used by someone else. It would be covered in germs! But I don't see a problem with other people doing it.

its is wrong because a lot of people who sell games back are people who don't give a shit. Meaning the condition of the game is not going to be the best (i.e scratches, creased manuals, finger prints on disc).

I buy shrink wrapped where possible to ensure its 100% new.

This is why I liked cartridges at least it was harder for people to damage those lol

If it's in a bad shape just don't buy it.
I didn't have even 1 problem buying used games untill now, so I still trust the places where I buy, they don't take games in bad state, and I pay 1/4 to 2/4 of the price of the actual game have, just because it's already open. It's a good deal.

A used game here is maybe 5-10 cheaper than the new one so there is no point trying to find a copy that is reasonable condition.

No, because I usually sell my game when I'm done with it and there isn't anything wrong with that. If I had more time or knew more people that had Ps3/Ps4 (I have 8 people on my PSN list and I know all of them) then I would try to get rid of the middle man (Used game store) and sell them directly to people. This is what I would recommend doing. It benefits you because you get more money. It benefits them because they pay less money.

Not at all.

Used games are legal.

I don't care where the money goes. I'm here to play games, not feed families.
