I don't know why you brought up the characters then as they're not relevant otherwise, but yes they did say 8 cups 32 tracks, and there's a picture right here in the OP (the first one) confirming this to be true!

It was relevant, it was proof they can change shit =P Like how to reveal more hidden characters or even cups.

give the example of ssb and ssbm in roster. In the first game it shows on screen there are 4 hidden which s true,but ssbm had 5 characters hidden on menu but was actually over 8!

It wasn't relevant because we already know they can change stuff, but that doesn't mean they'll change everything, or more specifically how many cups there are.

It is fact that there isn't more. If you don't want to accept that then ahwells. Have fun trying to unlock non-existent cups!
