The difference is absolutely negligble.  Even side by side its hard to tell the difference in most multiplats without being told they are there and pointing them out.

I have always found this 'if you want to play multiplat games' thing ridiculous.  I mean, the games look and play damn near the same on both consoles, a gap that is pegged to decrease, not increase.  It is absolutely about exclusives, services, price and features.  This particular player has a clear leaning towards Microsoft exclusives and services, the price difference is a constant (though is important to some) and the X1 has a greater out-of-the-box feature set.  Everyone has their own general opinion - but in this specific instance it is clear which console is the best option for the user in question.

And to your point about developers, lets use a better analogy from the same developer.  The vast majority of gamers gave TLOU the benefit of the doubt because the developer most recently made uncharted, and they were right.  Bungie's most immediately recent games were all Halo.  Their new game at a minimum tends towards Halo gameplay and art direction, even if the scale and multiplayer type are different...safe bet.

Read my earlier posts, I said the OP would enjoy an XBO more than a PS4. He seems to prefer XBO exclusives to PS4 so he should stay with XBO. I took issue with your statement that the difference in multiplats is negligible, there is a clear difference in 720p and 1080p. If you want to disagree, fine, but that doesn't make the difference go away.

I honestly don't see the comparison to Destiny and Halo. From what I've seen the two games look nothing alike. I'd compare it to Borderlands first but even that doesn't quite describe. I'm not sure if I can compare Destiny to anything right now.

As 2008Procharged points out, the real-world difference is negligible, and broadly irrelevant.

I have not and do not deny the technical reality, but its not a very sensible factor to consider when compared to features and gaming librarys, expecially when both consoles are historically underpowered anyway.

Doesn't really matter I suppose. It seems like you will end up getting both consoles in the end, right?

So, buy the one that cost the less or has the best offer available in the stores. And buy the other one when it's cheaper.

I heard that the X1 has had price drops recently and also bundled with games. So look into which package offers the most value for your money at the moment.

If you will end up just getting one, I would strongly recommend you to look up which games/titles that will come in the future for both, and also which games the X360 and PS3 had, that the other didn't. Games from those companies might come to their current system, sequels or new IPs.

For third party it seems like PS4 has taken X360 place from last gen as the "better" system for third party titles. But most games will be equally good.

I stand by my statement that if you just want 3rd party games, then you should go with PS4. But that's just my opinion. Let's agree to disagree on the issue.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Sounds good!

If I were you, I would go where your favorite games are.  Considering that you have had a 360 for so long, you are probabally a fan of either Halo or Gears I assume, so Xbox One would be a good choice as it will have the next Halo and Gears alongside a bunch of New exclusive IPs such as Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Fable Leagends, and so on.

Now playstation 4 does play some multiplatform games better, but as an Xbox One Owner, I feel that the games on the X1 look pretty amazing.  The difference isn't really that noticible unless you have them side by side on a big TV.

Well said.

As it is looking now, PS4 looks to have a brighter future. You will just have to be patient for a larger game lineup. I think PS4 is where gaming is going.I think PS4 is a better investment.

if it absolutely has to be one of the two, get the PS4,

Why, you ask?

Because somewhere down the line youll end up buying the one you dont have too, and invariably the cheaper of the two is going to end up being the Xbox One as recent desperation moves have shown.

Was that really called for?

Go Xbox because it has more variety of games that you wanna play at the moment. You already listed a few that you wanted to play: "Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, Killer Instinct, and maybe Titanfall." And you only listed 1 game for the PS4.. it's gonna be a long time 'til more games are available for the PS4.
