Wait. I thought handheld games that have a console counterpart didn't count?

Anyway, you're right. Vita is getting fuck all. No big games have been announced for it for nearly 6 hours now, it's ridiculous.

SCREW YOU SONY!

Define what counts as big game to you? And give me some examples as well just so I know we are in the same page here cause to me a game like SSB, Bravely Default, Pokemon and etc are big games cause they a) sell a lot of units b) sell a lot of systems c) quality, high-budget titles... Granted there are 3 games that got announced not too long ago for the vita but they once again, cater to that niche audience that the vita is known for and not much else. But if your defination is different, thats fine too.

Also, unlike games like Playstation All Stars, SSB has enough differences such as Stages, Single Player, Multiplayer and Adventure mode to warrant it counting as a different game since the only things that are the same are the characters and items but virtually everything else is different which is why anyone would want to buy the game twice if you have both systems

Looking at your post history, I'd say a big game is anything that isn't indie, but you've obviously moved the goalposts since then. You can't compare the sales of Sony 1st party games with Nintendo 1st party games, especially on handhelds. Sony simply doesn't have the right IPs nor the install base. Soul Sacrifice Delta and Freedom Wars are high budget, high quality games which, for the Vita, have a fair amount of hype behind them. As Kresnik said, the budget for the both of these games should be around the same as the games you mentioned, excluding maybe Pokemon. I'm not saying that Sony are handling the Vita well at all, but aside from throwing a tonne of money at 3rd party developers to make a GTA or Final Fantasy game (something Nintendo hasn't done either), appealing to their current niche and trying to establish handheld IPs is the best Sony can offer in terms of your definition of "big" right now.

I honestly didn't know the WiiU and 3DS versions of SSB were different. Sounds like the Vita isn't the only handheld getting half-assed versions of console games then.

The Vita doesn't have a reputation at all. You can't have a reputation when nobody outside forums even knows you exist lol

Yea but Sony promised it a lot more than Nintendo did... Sony was basically like, you get this, you will have the AAA experience! Instead what we got is a half-assed version of virtually all third party western games and poor first party support from sony. Least with Nintendo, you have AAA first party games and they pretty much stopped promising that AAA experience after like the first few months of release... Heck, SSB, one of the biggest titles on Nintendo platform is coming to the 3ds this summer... What is the Vita getting? Fuck all!

To be fair, that console counter part isn't coming out until 4 or 5 months later lol.

I don't know if Vita owners are that great. Why don't great games like Tearaway or Gravity Rush have a higher attach rate? Hell even the highly anticipated Killzone game has dissappointing sales...

All of the games you mentioned sold at least 1m digital copies which VGC doesn't track.

Rol, how do you know that? I know Vita has great online sales but, a million more for each of those games???

The Vita is a great system, however I think most people here miss its main problem. The Vita has a massive identity crisis and because of this a lot of people don't know if its suppose to be an dedicated handheld or just a ps3ps4 accessory. Too many of the games on the system are either ports or too similar to games already on the home consoles. To give a system an identity it needs games that are made for the system itself and not ones using a template from another system. Sony needs to craft experiences that can be found only on the Vita. It works for Nintendo.

Yeah, making the two games have exclusive stages, modes, trophies and collectables is so half-assed.

You completely missed my point.

In case you didn't notice, Rol was making fun of psvita owners who argue that vgc numbers are not accurate because they don't also include digital sales. He used 1m as an exaggeration and a joke.

Jokes aside, people who bring this point up are right. There are so many psvita games that are digital only and have sold better on vita than ps3 (or very close) according to the developers themselves, so we have no idea what the actual total numbers are The attach ratio keeps growing, as people are still buying games for vita and there are only a few buying new vitas. Also, people need to realize that most sony consoles sell a lot of software, but the sales are spread out, unlike Ninty consoles that sell insane amount of first party games, but the sales of the 3rd parties are by and large considerably lower.
