Forums - Gaming - Japan is full of used PS4 consoles. What's the meaning of this?

Is it a coincidence that not too long ago Nintendo released a Hello Kitty kart racer game as a WII U eshop download? I THINK NOT! People are trading in ps4's in the droves to get wii u's so they can play hello kitty racer! lol just kidding around. I love my Wii U btw and I'm a huge Nintendo fanboy so I'm allowed to joke around about eshop games lol.

Hello Kitty Racer is hardcore to the max!

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

Japan still buying systems for games and not hype confirmed.

sign ... meanwhile in the eu :(

Its obvious, they are all waiting for X1 price cut.

Perhaps they saw the PS4 as a companion device for the PSVita like the Vita is looked at in the west?

2 reasons:

1) The used game market in Japan is ridiculously huge. There's really no surprise in seeing new consoles already available in big quantities early.

2) Not that many games for the Japanese gamers, so the reasons to keep one are small.

The Mandarake in AmeMura (1 console). Also note the Biohazard Dreamcast for $2200!).

A DREAMCAST!? Mine stopped working some years ago.. I'd easily pay 2200$ for it. Still have all my games working flawlessly. Awesome console btw.

Yep, totally doomed. Pack it in guys! It was fun while it lasted.

A regular Japanese Dreamcast can be had for about $25. Even a fancy limited edition Hello Kitty or Sakura Wars Dreamcast can be had for $75-150.

Plus, there are only 200 of the black STARS Dreamcast!

People played Knack...

Haha =D

OT: The games are not Japanese-centric. Simple really. Sony will move a lot of PS4's in Japan when the big Japanese games come - eventually.
