Forums - Nintendo - Namco recruiting for a 2015 Smash Bros game. Wait... what?!

I don't know if I said it on this forum or on another one (lol), but...

I see Zelda U and SSBU having potentially interchangeable release dates. If SSBU releases holiday 2014, Zelda U could be early 2015. If Zelda U releases holiday 2014, SSBU releases early 2015.

Either way, I kind of expect the direct to have some awesome new SSB info, but announce the game will release in early 2015. This year's calendar is already decently packed...

Mario Kart 8 will jump start the slowdown after DKC:TF and will be followed by games like Bayonetta 2, 'X', Hyrule Warriors, and undoubtedly an unannounced title we'll find out about at E3...

While it's true that they have never given a release date, it was a given that Sakurai's health problems have made the development go slower than anticipated.

It wasn't officialy delayed, but that's what happened.


well that certainly affects development bysome time but lets not forget its technically 2 games they are working on, and they have help from namco. I always expected a holiday 2014 release, but we'll see soon enough. The games been in development for almost 2 years and i think SSBB took over 3. I just hope for a Beta :)

But they have said Smash Bros will be a 2014 release- so if it goes into 2015 then that is a delay-

No, not at all, its just the internet with SSB fans expecting it to come early cuz they dont have patience. It was obvious the earliest it would come out 2014 (back at E3). I always pictured a holiday 2014 release, if it comes out earlier than thats a good thing, but if delayed intill 2015, of course i be upset as SSB is my favorite franchise of all time, but i will understand that they want to add in all the content they can put in and i would kno they are making 2 games at the same time with the lead developer suffering from a health condition.

I just dont like it when people rush something, yes we all want our games, but some need to chill out -_- (im sure you seen those types before lol)

Thanks - if we can get X this year ill be happy-   I def would like to see that Fire Emblem game this year too-  ( or at least a release window ).  But the Wii u needs Smash this year from a viability standpoint ( viability of the Wii u) unless they had a nice surprise release this year to excite the market and fan base till smash is released

They also call it Smash Bros 6, though. I think the guy's just not well-informed (which also seems wrong, as the guy's supposed to be well-connected in the industry, but between the release date and the wrong numbering, i'm inclined to buy a fluke listing of some kind).

Either that or this is Pokken Fighters and the guy just isn't allowed to list it as such.
