Maybe their announcing because the free promo ended and this is how much it has sold thanks to that! If they do a price cut and a bundle, this might become the best selling Pokemon game!

Its deserved. Even if it wasnt as good as Black and White 1/2 in terms of content and story, the change to 3D graphics was an advancement wished for a very long time.
The 3DS is still going aswell. Chances are it will sell even more lifetime.
With that said, im already ready for the next one. :P

well cant do it like that WorldWide, cuz this is the first time ever for a WW release at the same time. All other games came out 6-8 months after japanese release. But i did make a thread that compared first year sales and even 2nd years. I'll try and find it for you

Found It. US+Europe had 8-9months in previous titles, XY had 2½months. Japan is fair comparison. Pls note BW is the fastest selling pokemon, but its the only one that dropped like a rock. Also DS userbase vs 3DS userbase, which puts XY in a pretty good position

Crazy sales for the Pokemon franchise...I just wish they release a FULL FLEDGED freaking pokemon HOME CONSOLE game. Not the crap that was Pokemon Colosseum that game made me mad. But that will take advantage of the power of a HOME console and make the battles look better and more interesting. Build an online battle system that is thought out well to challenge other players across the world. I don't know I enjoy the pokemon games but just wish we could get a genuine 100% through and through home console game.

If Pokemon Z is ever released/they start pumping out heavy events/they create a large top-notch quality DLC, Pokemon XY might have a chance to eventually become the third or maybe even second best selling Pokemon game in history.
