Forums - Sales - Global HW & SW Up! 29th March 2014

Good.  Good for Vita.  Finally tracking where I think it should be tracking (notably better than WiiU) in Europe too.  Still terrible in the USA.

XB1 numbers... ehh.  Excellent in the USA.  Terrible elsewhere.  T2 can't come soon enough.

PS4 alright.  Beginning to lose the war in the USA though.  Can't have that happen for too long, Sony.

Also, Blazblue really has a dedicated fanbase in the USA.

I've been moaning about this in mod chat all day but I'm going to repeat it here: Why the hell, when we're given a golden platter of a source by Chart-Track, does VGC still track wrong?

- 30     MXGP: THE OFFICIAL MOTOCROSS VIDEOGAME XB360 MILESTONE PQUBE
30
Battlefield 4 (PS4)
Electronic Arts, Shooter
2,140 2,140 18

MXGP isn't even in the top 75 on VGC.  No PS3 version; no 360 version; no Vita version.

What is it about Milestone Srl's games that mean they get selectively chosen not to be included in the database?

Wii U still losing weeklys to the vita. And if the XB1 continues to outsell the Wii U 50k a week it will pass it in 38 weeks. However... MK, SSB, Hyrule warriors, etc. Could take more then a year especially since the XB1 is not launching in many other countries until september.

This is why I'm supicious of the American numbers. You can see quite clearly why the PS4 outsold the X1 from this software chart. It more or less mirrors the American software chart but for some reason the result is the opposite.

The sales are close in both charts, what does it matter?

Why are you on this forum? I'm completely confused by your statement. If you think undertracking isn't worth mentioning then fair enough, but I consider an undertrack important, particularly when it stacks over a month.

The PS5 Exists.

Lol what? I'm saying what does it matter because they're estimates and they're close. A difference of a few thousand doesn't matter at all on this site.

I'm still confused by your post. You seem to be assigning 'importance' to my post so that you can then dismiss it as 'unimportant'. I'm merely stating that I feel the PS4 sold more in America. Whether that was by 5k, 10k, 15k or 20k, it doesn't matter, what matters is IMO the PS4 sold more than VGC is suggesting in America.

ps4 still Beasting, X1 didn't last long above 100k maybe they should give an other game with titanfall, Wii U still on life support

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

While we're here: Why has TLoU still not been adjusted? 6m shipped and 4.4m sold...1.6m on shelves+digital? That's crazy for almost a year old game. I can believe 500k MAX digital sales and about 500k on shelves MAX.

That's cool but unfair for the many other games undertracked.

No, your goal is to make as much money as possible, a goal that MS comfortably achieved with the 360.

Last time I checked the HEAD OF MICROSOFT said they are "In it to win".  SOOOO, should I trust YOU or the HEAD of the XBOX DIVISION?

...Me. If you seriously believe that MS places winning the race for marketshare as a higher overall goal than making money off of this whole thing then you apparently haven't really understood how businesses work quite yet.

Of course both of these things are intertwined with each other, which is why right now MS is doing quite a lot to not fall too far behind, but once they've reached a point where they feel that they have enough market presence to get third party support and make money off of software and subscriptions etc. then you can mark my words that they're going to ride this out for money, which is exactly what they did with the 360... or do you seriously believe that MS has to sell the 250 GB Xbox 360 for $250 in order to profit from it? They could probably sell it for $150 and still make some decent cash from every 360 sold.

You really think MS is in the gaming business to make money? You can't be serious...

There's no way to know since Xbox One is on sale at many retailers in the US. That plus Titanfall plus Xbox being popular in the US could be a reason why X1 is selling well there. The $450 Titanfall bundle is a better price than the UK price drop since US reacts heavily to sales.
